Its Been like 7yrs since ive seen them, and despite some technical difficulties, it was a great show! Kick out the Jams was awesome... A little Disappointed about no Yellow Ledbetter, but what can u do? I was about halfway back and the view was still great, and the sound was awesome as well. Overall im stoked about the whole day!

I thought for sure after kick off the jams they were going to play rocking in the free world. I was against the rail on the left side and infront of me they had a person on stage signing to the audience(sign laguage) I thought that was cool. For a trip that was almost canceled twice. I have to say it was a great time. Met a bunch of really cool people and ran into a couple from past shows.I was surounded by a bunch of cool ass people had a blast hanging out all day with complete strangers that at the end of the day became great friends.
Miami 92,WPB 2008,Tampa 2008,MSG 2008#1, EV Baltimore 2009 Night#2,EV ATL 2009, Seattle 2009, Jazzfest 2010, WM3 Arkansas 2010,Bridge School 2010
One of the best experiences of my life. I was as close to the stage as one could possibly be, and right in front of Mike! I was rocking out in my wheelchair (broken foot), and Mike and Eddie kept looking right at me. At one point Mike pointed right at me and threw me a pick. He also blew me a kiss . I was sooooo bummed out about going with a broken foot, but it ended up getting me right up front (I still had to get there at 10AM though, with the rest of ya). Amazing, simply amazing.
Wow, that's all I got to say. FIRST TIME seeing Pearl Jam, LONG TIME fan, and now I can REALLY see what the fuss is about. I mean, the music is GREAT, but the shows......wow. That's the only word that comes to mind. Was down at the left side front railing, awesome view, some few technical problems, but hey, that ain't there fault, they did have them CRANKED though!!! Great show, will never forget it!
Did anyone get that poster that the street vendor was selling outside the gate? It's like kinda psychedelic-y?.....Let me know if I should post a pic of it, haven't taken a picture of it yet. It's a pretty kickass poster.
I just read the setlist relay thread... in case the peeps posting on there are still in the dark, Ed stood during Just Breathe, and there was no string section - just the band.
I'd be curious to know how the people down the back enjoyed it. The crowd was insanely big (the record for a single-day Jazz Fest crowd is 160,000 in 2001 when Dave Matthews Band played, and this felt bigger than that). I was close to the front (not in the $600-a-ticket section right up front, but in the $45-a-ticket section right behind that lol) and everyone was having an awesome time - hopefully the deck chair army stretching out behind us had a blast too.
And I listen for the voice inside my head... nothing. I'll do this one myself.
These guys never diaappoint, and I must say this show was special. They played as if they have been looking for a way back to New Orleans for some time and they finally had their chance. they took advantage in every way possible. With this band's history in New Orleans, you could just sense that they wanted to make a lasting impression. While the show was a blast the highlight for me came after.
Went to the Howlin' Wolf to see the Meters and Galactic play. I walk in with a friend of mine and go stage right and immediately see Tim Robbins, Nick Cage, Michael Stipe, and one Eddie Vedder. I shook the man's hand and told him great show while my buddy told him to never stop playing music. A life dream, checked off just like that. Thanks Ed, and all of Pearl Jam for what you do. I'm still giddy. I GOT TO MEET EDDIE VEDDER!
Hey on that second pic... Down to the left of stone......Is that the General who was on the news a lot after Katrina hit? He looks a lot like my grandfather.

very cool.

JAZZ FEST F'N RAWKS
Galactic was in the slot right before Pearl Jam at the actual Fest, so I'm sure they all witnessed what Galactic is capable of - Irma Thomas and Trombone Shorty both joined the band. Galactic's set was phenomenal.
Did anyone happen to go to Crescent City Brewpub in the French Quarter? They had paintings on the wall that were a part of some contest and a painting of Eddie had a 2nd place ribbon on it.
I took a pic with my phone. Anyone know how to post that here?

is that a typo, or a new song? a remix perhaps?
That I no longer give a fuck Who is wrong and who’s right
Loved them at Jazz Fest!!! Last year another band ended early.....it is for crowd control....
PJ was like a Jazz Fest re-birth....I am born and raised in New Orleans and have been to many Fests but, of course, PJ was the best I've ever seen! It is incredible that after all the years they can still rock as hard as they do.
Mike tore up Alive! They seemed to be happy to be in New Orleans and I particulary enjoyed the shout out to the BP assholes who accidentally spilled about a million gallons of oil about a mile off our beloved marsh!
Loved that No Code got some play with In My Tree!
Anyway....this was my first show with my wife and it was so good to experience it with her as a new convert to PJ and she had a great time too!
Thanks to the band for being The Band!

You do know the song is called Unthought Known and not Unknown Thought, right?

No doubt. Keeping my fingers crossed this one becomes available.
It's 'Patti Smith' not 'Patty Smith'. Patty Smith is a Country & Western singer.

Who is wrong and who’s right
ended up scoring VIP pass/sticker -- which was great
while hanging out up front -- i saw a couple of movie actors -- D J Qualls & Ethan Embry were rockin' to PJ
only thing i was disappointed at was no poster -- so i had to buy the PJ shirt -- which as usual is one size smaller than the tag states
