I need to start listening....I'm not familiar at all. I liked what I've heard though.
All of their songs are better live.
This. I happen to think Circuital is the best studio record, but none of the studio stuff compares to live MMJ. The waterfall records are also good. I am not huge fan of the earlier records simply because I do not love the production. It took me a few years to get into this band, and I skipped them when they opened for Pearl Jam. But once it clicked I cannot miss them and will travel to see them. There is actually a youtube video of me getting into Phone Went West in Chicago. Rocking in the aisles.

Listening to live shows is the way to go. If you do decide to go with getting familiar with albums I would start with Z, It Still Moves, Circuital, then Evil Urges. My personal favs are actually the exact reverse of that.
Then give the new album a go, then the waterfall followed by pre-It Still Moves material.

Their entire studio catalog is amazing. I love the production on the earlier records. It has a very organic vibe to me. The updated It Still Moves just fucking rules. My favorite record by them.

It’s a perfect record.
This show, another show, a show here and a show there.
One of the One Big Holiday festivals is just them playing all their albums straight through, so you can get the best of both worlds! It's on nugs.net

Looks like Live Vol 3 will be the old Bonnaroo set from 2004. I don’t see any vinyl link with the announcement tho, at least not yet. Great set, from what I recall

Vinyl is up on their site (Coke Bottle Clear), but I imagine other color options will be available.
Their live series releases are no-brainer purchases for me. Vol 1 & 2 are fucking awesome.
Hell yeah! That LE is fucking awesome. Has the show been released prior?
I have a download of what I believe is an excellent sounding recording of it. Can’t remember where I got it, but I don’t believe it was a wide release.
I think this is the same show that was part of the 'We Have Arrived: Bonnaroo' show that played a lot on HDNet back in the day.
They still play it occasionally on AXS TV, which is what HDNet became.
Yes! This actually sent me down a rabbit hole. AXS TV and Palladia (which is now MTV Live?) were/are pretty stellar channels. I distinctly remember that Bonnaroo one and this Coachella one (not MMJ-related) that were fantastic:
