not all that long ago, you used to be able to get a ticket to a show for that price.

    $50 for a lighter?
    (40 + 10.50 shipping)

no thanks...i can wear an $85 hoodie, but i refuse to buy a $40 ($50) lighter. I'd planned on buying one till I saw the price, so I'm sure there will be plenty to go around to those who think it's worth it.

    Sub-Total $40.00
    Shipping $10.50
    Grand Total $50.50

    give me a fucking break.

i really love the way they look. i just LOVE that image, period. that said, i have zero use for a zippo lighter. even for candles, just not practical....i have a bunch of the long neck lighters for those, far better. so as beautiful a lighter as it may be, i just can't see me buying one. especially for $40! watch, i eventually get one...hahaha........but yea, since i don't smoke, what would i do with it? just leave it on a shelf? i think *practical* items should be used....
    Stay with me...

No!!! The fact I don't smoke makes $40 ok, smokers have to give up 7 or 8 packs of smokes if they buy this!!!

    Good Point!

P.S. I am glad I got one but admittedly slightly guilty over the price...

I am a smoker and I can't justify buying it. Besides I have a zippo already, had it for 10years, I see no need in replacing it.

I went and put one in my cart. I thought about it but it's just too much. If it was the $30 that they were at the shows, and a REASONABLE shipping charge then I would have done it. But an extra $10, and then $10.50 for shipping! I mean come one. How on earth can they justify $10.50 to ship it. Priority mail anywhere in the country would be $4.75, and you know it won't ship priority mail.

Then I thought about getting some other stuff like a couple of shirts to help save on shipping, but guess what? The $10.50 is a special shipping charge and you can't order anything else with it.

I'm all for cool collectibles, but that was just too crazy for me. Oh. I removed it from my cart in case it sells out quickly and people who do really want it for that price can get it.
