Newark added because the Devils sucks... F me

So I just realized that Newark is now being added, probably stems from the fact that my New Jersey Devils are about to be knocked out of the playoffs, which makes the fact that they are losing that much easier to swallow! :mrgreen::mrgreen::mrgreen:

    I know I would get ripped for saying this, but I really like this Flyers squad. So if they do beat the Devils in one more game (highly likely) I will be pulling for them from here on out.

    But hey, the Devils came back down 3-1 against the Flyers before...

    Flyers have a great team and Boucher looks solid in net. They could be a tough team to beat in the next round.

    Big Devils fan here... we don't have a cup-winning squad right now. Fortunately, neither do the Flyers! I take great joy in the fact that none of my friends that are Flyers fans have ever seen their team win the cup in their lifetimes, while we have seen 3.

    Yeah I agree we don't have a cup caliber team, but getting out in the first round the past couple years has sucked. I say the same thing to my friends who are flyers fans.

    this show was announced because of the demand in the NYC metro area

    and thats all there is to it

    For the moment, there is no reason to even put the Flyers and Pens in the same sentence... long way to go for that one.

    So IF the Flyers can take care of the Devils, they will take on the Caps. Ovie is best player in the league (dont worry Pens fans... you have the cup and crosby has a gold medal... I know, I know), but I do not think the Caps are the best team. They are beatable, BUT I am not sure the Flyers have enough talent to get that done.

    Playoff hockey is the greatest and I would love having a team in it for as long as possible.

    BTW, Devils fans. Kovalchuk has all the talent in the world but he is a total dog! Sick speed, sick shot, NO Heart! He is the opposite of a NJ Devil that I have learned to hate. He is the bizzaro-devil. Feel free to reply but through 4 games, he has scored an empty netter, a 5 on 3 goal, and has logged over 100min of ice time. He monopolizes the puck and refuses to work for the puck.

    And Thanks PJ for another show in the PHL/NJ/NY area. You guys are the best!

    You are correct. The devils could come back and they would have to deal w/ the scheduling. The show has nothing to do w/ the hockey game... HOWEVER, isn't this what the boards are for? Hockey and PJ are 2 of my favorite subjects!

    I completely agree. I'm really not a big fa of his. He's a great hockey player but just doesn't fit with the Devils. I think the Devil's GM is a genius with what he has done in the past decade and give him credit for getting Kovulchuk, but it just didn't work. He really does monopolize the puck and does nothing with it. The offense was much better before he arrived, much better flow. Leave it to Parise, he'll get it done.

    He's at least scored during this series. When the Thrashers played the Rangers in 2007 in the playoffs he literally disappeared and had zero points for the series. The Devils always play tight defense which is the complete opposite of Kovalchuk. He is the poster boy for being a floater on defense.

    Oh and I would bet everything he is heading to the KHL after this season. He just wants as much money as possible and they can pay him as much since they have no salary cap in that league.

    I agree with the KHL comment. Not sure how long the KHL will be around when teams like Dymano Moscow are shutting down.

    One more thing for Devil fans... what happened to Elias? He has lost way more than a step... He isn't half the player he once was.

    I agree w/ the previous post... sort of sweet to dispose of Rangers and Devils, but admittedly, the 2nd rd is where the hopes and dreams come crashing down. They will be very thin w/o Gags and Carter.

    you say you've watched a lot of crosby yet you bring out the "whine" card? obviously you don't watch him at all...either that or you totally don't understand hockey. i'll admit he was whiny in his rookie year, but since then he hasn't bitched at all. he talks to the refs like ALL GOOD CAPTAINS do.

    and come on...sid doesnt play defense?! are you for real?! did you happen to see game 2 of this series? its the freshest in my memory, crosby single handedly saved that game by diving behind fleury and stopping a puck from crossing the line. there are countless other plays from all season in which crosby makes stellar defensive plays. lets see your boy ovechkin make one defensive play...he barely even crosses the blue line! he tries to camp out behind the defense all the time. its not hard to score 50 goals when you camp behind the defense and shoot everytime you have the puck...
