We know the Bruins are in as a 6 seed and it looks like the C's will be in as a 4 seed. I believe the Bruins open on the road Thursday, and the Celtics will open at home on Saturday.
What does this all mean? I'm not really sure, other than playoff schedules should be pretty firmed up. If we aren't hearing something in the next couple days (Friday at the latest, I'd assume) I think Boston 2 is a no-go and I'll be scrounging for Hartford tix.
Not even close. May 18th is roughly at the beginning of the Conference Finals for both the NBA and NHL, so there are still two rounds of games that have to be played before those schedules are set.

No. If a show can't be scheduled at the beginning of the playoffs it won't be scheduled at all. If we don't hear about it this week then I just don't think it is going to happen. Of course, I hope I am completely wrong.
NO SHOW MAY 18TH........................they will be in ALBANY ,NY watching NEIL YOUNG.
First day of his tour .......they will be busy watching UNCLE NEIL at the palace................

That's a lot of money to give up (and pay) to see Neil Young. Although, he's great.
If Pearl Jam is on the road in the Northeast with an open date, they'll book it. It's not just the band who needs to get paid. Consider the road crew and attendant expenses. Consider the Albany charity they support with ticket revenue.
The Albany double bill would be fun. Nice little spray from the cash hose toward the bottom line before Pearl Jam takes New York City. "Leatherman" will sound great at the TU Center on May 18. I've already asked Donny to play it on a June ATS podcast.

Good lord  ... I love how people keep perpetuating this stupid rumor. Just let it die already.
according to las vegas boston burin is about +150 dog against buffalo. could they win the series yes, but they are unlikely too, and if they get to the 2nd round they probably play washington and wouldnt get by them. so its unlikely any hockey for boston will be played on may 18, it be about conf final time for hockey then, and bruins will be out
as for basketball, boston could win the first round against hawks or someone, but the team is getting old they almots need a miracle to beat orlando in the east semis. hoops playoff is week later so it possible that the tail endof 2nd round series will take place around that time.
but if no boston show, what about a show somewhere else? is till cant believe they play buffalo the 10th, and then bristow teh 13th. i heard bunch of rumors philly or washington dc show may 12th. but capitals got the arena in washington dc, and philly just had 4 shows
i cant see a show happening this late...so night off for the band on the 18th
and why would they not go to see neil young in albany? i did not say play,i said watch.
they would have to pay for tickets? get a grip man.......he is uncle neil to the band.
if there is no show, which slim chance now .....of course some will be at the neil show.
anybody who is anybody in the ny area will be at the show.its neil young solo tour opening night
one show in Boston?....one show?...in Boston?...just one?!?! WTF?!?
Well, I thought that "one" show wasn't sold out yet? Maybe that's why there's only "one" show.

You can get scattered singles in the 4th deck, and pairs behind the stage. It's 98% sold out. I have to assume they couldn't work it out with the venue. Quite sad.

I do think the tease of TBD is a big reason why the 17th hasn't sold out. I could be wrong, but I don't think so. I know I wouldn't pay full price plus TicketMaster fees to sit rear stage, especially not when there was a good chance of a second show being added.

Dont the NBA and NHL post the playoff schedules? I know it can change because of upsets in seedings, but cant we kind of figure out some scenarios?
Something productive to kill some time at work anyway
I think they only have the 1st round schedules set. I'm not sure if they have 2nd rounds set in stone, or if they wait to see how long the 1st round will last. I know the Celtics schedule is:
Game 1 - Saturday, April 17, 8 p.m. (ESPN)
Game 2 - Tuesday, April 20, 8 p.m. (TNT)
Game 3 - Friday, April 23, 7 p.m. (ESPN)
Game 4 - Sunday, April 25, 1 p.m. (ABC)
Game 5* - Tuesday, April 27, TBD (TBD)
Game 6* - Thursday, April 29, TBD (TBD)
Game 7* - Saturday, May 1, TBD (TNT)
You would think. I'm wondering if because this would be the second show rather than the first, and the band and stage and crew would all already be in town anyway following the 17th, if they can wait longer than we all think to announce the 18th? It wouldn't take very long to sell most tickets. Upper balcony and rear stage maybe, but not most of the arena.

I'm of course on board with this as it would essentially be a full day of PJ ...but man, the band would be TIRED.
I wrote them earlier today and got the "Sorry, we have no information on that at this time" response.
