81 - I understand your thoughts, but this is not your typical rock concert. As Roger says it's rock theatre at its best.
I think the problem is with your seats. I went to the show twice. Once with great seats and the other much farther back. I was blown away being on the floor - the crowd rocked and I was in heaven. Father back the crown sucked big time. That had a lot do do with how I felt about that show.
If Roger decided to play a different setlist every night he couldn't make it nearly as awesome as it was.
My suggestion - if you love the wall pay the money to be on the floor..it's well worth it.
It's the wall, he can't play a different set list each night. I was just saying, doing the same show every night for a year has got to get redundent by the end.
I think i do agree that seats on the floor or in the first couple of sections would have been better, however, it wouldn't have been worth the additional $'s to be there. Face value of the tickets was a bit steep to begin with.
But all that said, i've sat everywhere from 3rd row from the stage to 3rd row from the last row at PJ concerts and never felt left out. Obviously it was not a PJ show.
I still think, if they would have had the audience sing those key lines, it would have brought the entire stadium energy level up.
It was still enjoyable, and i'm glad i went. I just think it could have been an off the chart night vs. what it was.
Ill be going to this show at Nassau Coliseum next month. I couldnt spend the money they wanted for the good seats, so Ill be in the upper section, but Im really looking foward to this. The good seats were going for obnoxious amounts of money. If it was the original Floyd lineup, I wouldve dug deep for good seats though.

i was watching the prices today to see what they were doing. the ticekt i had the other night for 60 (after fee's) is going for 106 tonight (before fees, it'd be like 115 w/ fee's)
face value on the floor and the close sections were crazy priced at 256 + fees. and then when you get into the vip seating...holy nutty factor batman
I have VIP 4th row center for the 1st night at Nassau Coliseum and fan club 1st section off the floor but towards the back for the 2nd night.......can'y fucking wait!!!
And for anyone in NJ, I have a pair in sect 4a on the floor row A (right where the 1st and 2nd sect cut in the middle so it's a perfect vantage point) for sale....pm if interested.

i saw the show from the upper level and everyone sat and it was perfect
i liked the fact that it wasn't a high energy crowd cause the wall is anything but happy.i wanted it to be a somber event. i like the fact that roger said it was rock theater cause that's exactly how i felt the show was. it was done perfectly like the album and movie and that's what i wanted and expected. the last 3 songs he played i'm not sure where they came from, if they were new tunes he wrote for this tour or not. i paid close to a hundred for my upper level seat and walked away absolutely blown away by the event. if you are a fan of that cd/movie then you need to see this. if you are going and are a casual fan at best and/or don't get/appreciate/love the darkness of the wall then don't go. this is not a happy, stand in your chair and dance rock show...nothing like pj at all.

He is doing 4 shows in the L.A. area, so I am gonna try to go if there are bargains to be had on lower level seats. The upper level at Staples Center is a bit too high up!
I saw him do Dark Side at Coachella a few years back...it was more of a spectacle then a concert, but it was cool to see it in an outdoor desert setting!
We were in Chicago for the Friday night show. We were near the back corner in the upper deck. I'm curious about Grocery Cart Guy.
I was doing some searches on the internet to find out what his sign said. The best we could do from being so far away was "HOMELESS: Will Work for Booze, Febreze (????), and Hookers" We figured out quickly he was part of the show, especially when the tickets said the show started at 8 pm prompt and that was the only thing going on. Plus that guy was in there, allowed to go around the entire floor, and had a nice looking sign...pretty obvious. Anyway, the internet said that he had a different sign at least one night in Toronto (I believe it said "We Don't Need No Thought Control") and now I'm just curious about how many different slogans are used on these signs. Any help?

he was there tuesday. i forget what the sign said. i think it was anti goverment.
just looking at the rest of the tour. talk about a true world tour. it doesn't end until next june. that has got to suck to play the same show over and over and over and over and over and over and over.
not when you are making half a million each night
your review is exactly what I would expect from this show
I dont go to shows to see videos, props and flying pigs.
but that opening sequence looks really cool-id go but only for free
Didn't realize this thread existed, I suppose now is as good a time to post as any. I saw the Roger Waters show with the best seats I could have hoped for - second row just to the left of the center. It was an experience I will never forget, just because of the sheer magnitude of everything, from the stage props, to the sound, to the way the lights were utilized, to the technology... it was just a real spectacle. One thing I will say, is don't go expecting very much stage presence, as you won't receive that. What you will get, is a flawless, well-rehearsed performance of The Wall, and one hell of a show.

the opening sequence was a highlight. when the first couple of rifs hit and the pyro. that was cool.
yeah, i'm sure they are taking in a ton of money for each show, but to do the same show 91 or 94 or whatever the count is now, straight times. you know there are going to be alot of nights where they are just going thru the motions.
it was still cool to see and was enjoyable. i know i have said it before, but let the audience take over the key chants of we don't need no education, we don't need no thought control and tear down the wall. that's part of what makes a concert awesome.
Well i'm biased as i saw the original Wall in 79 or 80 i forget wich yr since they only performed it here on Long Island & Los Angeles and that was with the complete lineup All of Pink Floyd , so to me it's not worth it ...
For those that have been to the show, do you think it's likely that one could grab a single balcony ticket outside the venue for face value or maybe even below? Any info or observations would be much appreciated.
P.S. I haven't read all the way through this thread because I want to avoid spoilers.

i don't see why not. i scored my lower level ticket day of show from an online ticket broker (not stub hubb) for half price, it was a tuesday show tho. i guess it depends on how many shows he is doing in your market and day of week.

yeah you usually can off scalpers. That is what I do for big shows like this. We got lucky though and got our tix for Waters in the pre sale. For the Eagles, and AC/DC, did the scalper route and got below face. Only thing is that you may have to wait really close to show start time to get your lowest price.
Well tomorrow is the night for me. He is playing Boston tonight, tomorrow, and Sunday. I'm catching the middle show. Been listening to this album all week and can't wait to see the show.
"So ya.....thought ya.....might like to.......go to the show?"
I haven't the seen the show yet. So I hope it comes to Australia later this year or next year. I think it'll probably will, since the tour is gonna extend into 2012. Also, roughly how long is the entire show?

Well, I guess I must be the only one in here from the UK that went. But hubby and I saw him last night in Manchester and it was just amazing.
Big round of applause for Roger.
I'm in the UK too, and I went!
Only problem was, the second night I went in London, a couple of blokes named David Gilmour and Nick Mason or something invaded the stage and caused mass hysteria!!!
The show is breathtaking though, probably the best I have ever seen! Just a marvel...

I saw the show yesterday and I'm already looking for a ticket for tonights show ...... I really would love to see it again!
Go see it if you still have the chance! It is amazing !!!
