I was just listening to this again. I went there in 2008 to see a symphony. The pearl jam cd from this show is amazing! The sound is incredible, the natural acoustics of the instruments, espically the bass and how clear the drums and vocals are. I have an official cd of this show, has any one else heard it? It was a almost acoustic, unplugged show, very awesome
heres the setlist

Ofthegirl
Low Light
Thumbing My Way
Thin Air
Fatal
Nothing As It Seems - best version ever!
Man Of The Hour
Immortality
Off He Goes
Around The Bend
I Believe In Miracles
Sleight Of Hand
All Or None
Lukin
Parting Ways
Down
Can't Keep
Dead Man
Masters Of War
Black
Crazy Mary
25 Minutes To Go
Daughter
Yellow Ledbetter

whats your thoughts on this show??

Or maybe the OP is talking about the secret Benny Hall show on the 23rd, that had the exact same set list as the 22nd one, and that he and only he has the official CD of and thus no one else here has heard? What about that?

    .........

This is a PEARL JAM forum... of course everyone will have all the live releases so yeah we all know this show is a good one..

  • Funny how I also listened to this one this past few days... From the 524 PJ songs/versions of on my Ipod, at some point Sleight of Hand came up and I decided to hear the whole thing.

Great stuff imo. Not sure about the "be in a mood" sort of thing cause I'm always in a mood to listen PJ :D

    Ok.

Obviously some people have heard it. Its just that i was able to find an official cd of it in a store in Seattle last year, which is uncommon for pearl jam boots to be found in a music store (except the gorge cds or live on two legs) therefore that's the reason i asked if anyone had heard it.(talking about, the official cd, not an mp3 or a copy, because sound quality is best on an actual cd, not a burnt cd.)

Also, is there a video out there? Ive never heard of it and would love to see it.

Jeez man, i come here asking for peoples opinions on a show, and i got a few, but more people wanted to be smartass and say, yea, its a pearl jam board, of course some people have heard it. Theres no need for the "im better than you" tone of the words you write. I simply posted because ive been listening to it more recently, and ive been enjoying the sound of the show, how it sounds different because of the room and the clearness of all instruments. Theres no need to point out the obvious. And, also, ive been to 20 pearl jam shows, and 21-22 this may, and ive been a fan since 1992 when i was 10 years old until now at 27. So, dont try and be such know it alls because i got the date wrong. I got that from memory, i didnt have to look it up, so if i was ONE day off, then, i was one day off.

this official live album came out at a time where pearl jam had a FOUR YEAR lull between studio albums. anything released at this time, Lost Dogs and Benaroya, was just gobbled up because we all wanted something new. It's a standard release that everyone has heard, that's all people are trying to say I think. It's almost like coming on and asking if we've heard No Code.

But back to the topic, Black from this show is incredible and I wish I had even known about the show going on to attempt to get tickets. Gotta love the Thin Air classic mess up too.

The dvd I have is probably about a 6 for quality out of 10, I haven't watched it that much. Nothing amazing.

Most of us are just teasing. No offence meant. Benny Hall is an extremely well-known boot and just about everyone here has heard it. The date's important because 10/22 is the band's anniversary. The vinyl release is one of the more sought-after items on the PJ market, extremely expensive! And as to a video...we can't talk about bootleg videos on the forum. Doesn't mean they're not out there though. ;)

They kinda ruin the atmosphere for me...

Ok, most people are teasing, and im ok with that. I was just suprised at how it came across.

I also agree that the set list is mood setting. Its similar to when pearl jam opened for them selves and did an opening show of more acoustic, quiet numbers.

I just love certian songs on here, of the girl being one, fatal, wow, fatal is amazing, sleight of hand is REALLY mood setting, the solo is long in it and very nice. Then the johnny cash song?! i liked that alot. But, nothing as it seems, all or none, parting ways... just awesome songs that sound amazing with the room.

Again, ive been there to Benaroya hall and the reason the people "screaming" in the background sound so loud is because the acoustics of the room. Sure, its distracting, but i dont know if they were screaming as loud as it came across.

For those who dont know, its a symphony hall in seattle, and, the design of the room is breath taking. Heres some links to some pics of the room.

Immortality gave me goosebumps that night...it was seriously amazing live. The stand-up bass...Matt wearing a tie...benefitting YouthCare, it was a very special concert indeed. I get the same feeling every time I listen to the cd.

    give the dude a break..
Everyone is busting your balls b/c Benaroya is only slightly more "bootleg" than Live on Two Legs

I've always loved the Of the Girl, Immortality, Black and mike's play at the end of Daughter. Forgot to mention Parting Ways and a few of the others. I used to like the guy who screams during Black...now I hate him. I think he's the same douch screaming "sit down" and "go cubbies".

If you get your $$$ together, check out the Gorge CD's that are akin with this type of live release. Worth the cost for Dirty Frank alone. Such a stupid song yet played with such intesity and heart you'd think it was pertaining to world peace. Blows the Lost Dogs version........I've gotten off topic. Benaroya is a staple in any good collection of music.
