my mom makes disgusted sounds when she sees two men kiss, some people are just like that... but credit to my mom, while she finds it gross that 2 men could kiss each other, she still values their right to do it.

Personally I think that the reason people believe that marriage is only for heterosexual couples is... outdated ancient religious interpretations and IGNORANCE.

Gender and sexual orientation aside, people are creatures who enjoy and need the comfort and love of others, and in return also give that comfort and love to those they care about. Why should anyone else get in the way of two people who love each other (excepting circumstances of abuse etc)???

Why does it repulse some people? Because they have categorised it in thier tiny little narrow-minded skulls, that it is a disgusting act and they are scared of them, and in doing so have closed thier minds to the fact that gay people are people with feelings and needs to. But fear not ignorant ones, obviously gay people find your heterosexual ways not a particuarly attractive scenario either, so you are safe from the big bad gay man!


Actually wasn't homosexuality ENCOURAGED in certain times and situations??? Like many early composers were encouraged to have male sexual partners as women were seen to be too distracting???

So I say if you're happy and you love someone, why shouldn't you be able to show that in a ceremony, regardless of the gender of yourself and your partner.

this statement is offensive. I find male on male sex repulsive, but I fully support their right to a civil union/marriage/whatever. I have several gay male and female friends. I also find some male on female sex repulsive, depending on what it is. So to call people like me ignorant and narrow-minded is in itself ignorant and narrow-minded.

Do I find female on female sex repulsive? Absolutely not. Actually, I'm sportin' a chub just thinking about it.

Seriously though, I have seen some videos of woman on woman that I didn't like either, so to me it has nothing to do with the genders involved, it's the act(s) that I like/dislike.

unfortunately, it's not that simple. do you believe that homosexuality is a choice, rather than an orientation? what if you had a son/daughter, and they turned out to be gay? would you disown them, or say it's ok as long as they don't try to get married, or urge them to get some sort of therapy to "cure" them?
