MySpace dying a slow, cringing death.

  • I have a Myspace account but rarely long-on anymore.

I Signed up to Myspace to find family and friends.
After being on there for maybe a week I saw I had a message in my inbox.
It was from a girl whom I didn't know. Her exacted words were "Hello,How are you"

It turned into weeks of talking on the computer.
Then I found the courage to ask her on a date.

This coming June will be 3 years since our first date.
We are engaged to be married later this year.
Strange how things happen in life.

Wow. At least ONE good thing came out of that site. Congrats! Are you going to invite Tom Anderson to the wedding?
    That would be funny.
    Thanks for the congrats.

Damn...sounds nearly indentical to how my current girlfriend and I met. The end of January marked us being together for 3 years. Only difference is we don't have the engagement.

Cheers to you. As shitty and stupid is MySpace is, at least you and I acquired something worthwhile from it, eh? :)

I've kept mine for the bands' news. I log on maybe once a month.
    9/98, 9/00 - DC, 4/03 - Pitt., 7/03 - Bristow, 10/04 - Reading, 10/05 - Philly, 5/06 - DC, 6/06 - Pitt., 6/08 - Va Beach, 6/08 - DC, 5/10 - Bristow, 10/13 B'more
8/08 - Ed solo in DC, 6/09 Ed in B'more,
    10/10 - Brad in B'more
  • Weird, as I was reading this thread I got a myspace update email.

The only people that updated were bands and my nieces who are all between the ages of 13-18.

Looks like it's back to square one.

I think the crazy customizations and spam is what killed that place. So many page designs didn't work on different browsers, crazy script errors, music players blasting music once you loaded up someones page. It turned into a clusterfuck, then once that happened, Facebook became available to everyone and the demise of myspace began.

Although as others have said, it was good for listening to Music and meeting chicks.

This seems so odd though. Not the meeting someone online part, but that they randomly emailed you. Did they search a topic that interests you both or something? If so, that would make more sense. :)
ADD 5,200 to the post count you see, thank you. :)

i work at a post office and you'd be surprised how many people don't know how to fill out an envelope or write an address. one guy literally thought if he put the name and city of the person it'd get there
