Songs that have been ruined for me

Obviously as many of you know that when you start dating a 'non PJ' fan you always try to get your signifigant other to not only love you but love Pearl Jam too (or at least for me if you're gonna date me you gotta share me with Jeff, Mike, Matt, Eddie, Stone.....and sometimes when I'm really drunk, Boom). So getting them attached to PJ is easy, but unfortunately after dating and breaking up they always ruin songs for me. Here are the three songs that are ruined for me because of ex girlfriends.

Last Kiss - one ex made me listen to this song on repeat everyday for a year straight on our way to work together. I hated the song before she did this...even hearing one note of it makes me want to vomit. I sit down when this song is played live.

Wishlist - I used to love this song, but now its barely tolerable to listen to a recording of it. But for some reason when its played live I still love it. I guess I'm still holding on to the fact that its a great song.

Black - everyone is gonna hate on me for this big time. But after dating a girl for a year when the only PJ song she knows is Black....it gets really tiring and boring. I've had to put this gem away on the shelf for the past year so the song isn't completely gone.

Well that's my speel. Maybe someone can throw some advice my way so I don't loose Black forever. I'm definately sure this has happened to some of you guys too.

    Chin up brother... it's very hard not to associate certain songs with people and memories but try and look past that! Hopefully in time you'll realize why you loved the song(s) in the first place!

    i couldn't listen to a whole album for awhile. thought it was ruined. now i'm embarrassed i even posted anything about it. i can listen to anything now. you will eventually be able to listen to these songs again..

    Yes unfortunately you are correct sir. Last Kiss sucked in the 50's and it still sucks now.

To this day, every time she hears the song she goes red in the face and wants to hit someone. If they play it at Jazz Fest and you're standing near her... stand still, and don't look her in the eye.     And I listen for the voice inside my head... nothing. I'll do this one myself.

    Oddly but luckily for me, my wife is not a PJ fan and I'm fine with that. She likes a few songs but mostly they are all mine and that's the way I like it. You can't share your whole world. Although she does dig Eddies Into the Wild and enjoyed seeing him live when I took her.

    Side note: my 2 1/2 yr old daughter falls asleep to Into the Wild almost every night. How sweet is that ?

    What does this have to do with songs that are ruined for me ? Nothing. No PJ song will ever be ruined for me but there are some that I'm completely sick of hearing live.
