Fav Opener

I have seen 8 PJ shows and out of those 8 they have opened with:

Release
Severed Hand (Twice)
Wash
Crazy Mary
Love Boat Captain
Oceans
Long Road

I have to say, I think I would have to go Long Road as an opener as my fav. Obviously opening with Release is a treat indeed but Long Road just something to it as the song builds as an opener. Maybe it is just me. Don't get me wrong, PJ can open with anything and I will like it.

    Hard to Imagine and Can't Keep are my favorite openers....although I would like to give love to Release, but its just too typical

    other than that, I really like Release as the opener. It doesn't seem to sit elsewhere in the set and its such a powerfull song

    At both shows I went to last year (Austin City Limits and Philadelphia IV) they opened with Why Go...AWESOME. Also happens to be one of my favorite songs.

    A few others that I have also enjoyed openings of - Severed Hand, Hard to Imagine and Release.

    They could open with just about anything and I would enjoy it though.

    I just listened to MSG 7/8/03 again and Love Boat Captain is great when Eddie sings..."Let the Show Begin" and the crowd goes nuts. Brings back the chills.

    Yea, when they opened with it at Philly '05 I got chills. Still do when I hear the boot. Powerful stuff, especially the crescendo to shouting "WASH MY LOVE" at the end.

    Can't keep is a killer opener. It really is. I dig that song a bunch.

    There is to many!!! Now I would say "Of the girl". I think thats the one thing I love about these guys is that you know there is a handful that are used as openers but you never know.
