I received a copy on vinyl yesterday. It's pretty much always been my favourite PJ album.

I mean, the first four song run... Too good.

It sounds louder than all other albums but the clarity really shine through, a great combination. From the opening riff to the closing solo it does not give up.

  • YIELD!! This album is timeless. It seems as if it were only 12 years ago that I was selling stolen babies out of the trunk my car to buy the cd. Ah memories.

P.S. if anyone needs a baby PM me
Nothing but thanks for those willing to give of their soul to a stranger. And I hate to say it but The Who are overated.

When Yield was due for release I remember being really excited about how the jump from Vitalogy - No Code, No Code - Yield would compare since these two albums were (and still are) my favourites. I was expecting something completely different and when I heard Given To Fly and then saw the artwork for the album I knew the band were about to give us something a little more accessable. I can still remember the feeling of the first listen and it felt like breathing in the freshest lung full of air after the claustrophobic previous albums. I really thought this kind of album would disappoint me from PJ but I love that they made it and that they made it when they did. This will always be the only album from PJ you could describe as panoramic and I'm so bad for over reviewing PJ's music I'm just going to go and put it on now instead of talking shite. :D

I shudder to think what the crowd would do if they even played Brain of J and Faithful back to back.

    The place would melt

I was just thinking how cool that would be and saw this thread. Springsteen's done it (I was there for Asbury Park), and Trent Reznor's done it with Downward Spiral. Patti Smith's performed all of Horses. Yield would be the perfect choice for this. I vote yes!

edit - Oh, and preferably at MSG 1 or 2
