Small TBD update (as of 3/26)

I just talked to my buddy who has a close friend in the ticketing department at TD Banknorth. He says that the Garden and the band really want to add the 2nd date, but can't do so until it's free from the Celtics and Bruins. He said that it would be decided the week after Easter.

I know, nothing really new, other than a potential timeframe.

It is a good update. That is what I thought, by then most of the playoffs scenarios will be set and they will have most of the dates worked out for each round.

Thanks for the update. Pretty much just what we already speculated about.

I hope that is true. Boston is far enough away that I won't be tempted to go. I am spending way too much on concerts this year, the two MSG shows are plenty for me!

Well if you're talking Mass, except for the 96 tour, they have been playing multiply shows in this state going all the way back to 1991.

Just won more reason for the bruins to drop out of 8th and not make the playoffs.

    Go Habs!!

Man, that would be amazing!! I'm pretty sure if they can't get the 18th in Boston then no other venue will be added tho. I hope I'm wrong

Good update! I knew it wasn't another MSG show, and wasn't sure why they just didn't announce a 2nd Boston show. I suppose if they end up not playing Boston because of a conflict that they can find another location in the North East that will sell almost as fast.

I talked to somebody at the Garden and they told me the Celtics Bruins had no bearing on whether there was a second show or not... who knows though.. I am sure the person I talked to was clueless anyways

Being a B's fan there's no way I'm going as far as saying that, but I wouldn't mind if they didn't make the playoffs. Not only because I want another show, also because they would sacrificical lambs for the Caps.

  • Thats the good thing about booking shows at MSG at least, you know the Rags and Knicks aint getting anywhere near the playoffs.

    Another mini-update.

I just talked to my buddy again. He says that when the band initially approached the Garden, they requested 2 nights (5/17 and 5/18). The Garden said that they would sign on for night 1 and hold 5/18 for them. The Gardens' obligations are with the Bruins and Celtics, so they could not promise them night 2 due to unknown playoff schedules.

The band has agreed to wait on a decision until April 15th, with all parties agreeing that they would love to have a decision before then. So, it sounds like PJ is waiting on the Garden to tell them what is going on. My buddy says that it is hard to imagine (pun intended) them waiting that long, but that's the deadline they'll give to make a decision.

My buddy reiterated that both PJ and TD Banknorth want the 2nd show. Once they know the schedules, they will make it happen.

I think the real question here is what happens to 5/18 if TD Banknorth comes back and says "sorry, we can't do it"? I wonder if PJ has another venue on hold, just in case. All in all, sounds like we'll hear something in the next couple weeks.

Yeah, it would have to be a venue that would be willing to only have a month in between on-sale times and day of show. I would assume if it was a smaller venue, it would be a good risk to take.
