Restlesssoul, that's exactlly how I remember it. I remember standing in the parking lot at the swamps and some girl hands me the breathe sign. Then I remember going to MSG both nights and reading your post brought back many kick ass memories from that tour......although I hated the hole Kenneth star bullshit. Shouldve played a song instead of talking about that prick. I remember going to hartford and people handing me thank you signs. And I believe it was after the first encore that the signs came up and the band had this fucking awesome look on there faces like, ya these are our fans and this is how special they are. Thanks for the walk down memory lane.....I wonder who eds gonna call from the stage this time???? Maybe he'll place a phone call to Obama??? Maybe Obama will answer not like Johnny!!!

    the good old days . . .
During 'Alive,' Ed makes four attempts to toss his microphone over the vocal monitor rig above his head, and finally gets it over, but instead of just standing there, he proceeds to CLIMB UP THE MIC CORD and hang there for the rest of the song. Possibly the best show the band has ever played in their life. Period. (And they knew it, too.)

i still have mine. but it's at my parents house in my box of PJ goodies.

found this doing a quick yahoo search though:

can't read the fine print, and can't remember what it exactly says, but basically talks about the song and the last time it was played in '94 in boston.

this is actually a little different from the one that i still have to this day from either night one as msg or 09/08/98 at continental airlines... the description on the bottom of mine is longer... ill try to post a pic when i get home tonight
it's largely due to eddie that i liked to jump off of things as a child...

i wish i could take credit, but i just copied and pasted from five horizons, it says it in my post.....i wasnt at the show, but dammit i wish i was, and learning about it and the rest of the history was so exciting.

the best info on history of pearl jam was found at TSIS in their Pearl Jam FAQ page. all that was lost when it went to wiki... i read that FAQ so many times...it was VERY in depth.

i also enjoyed the leash campaign..that one was good too.

also, id be lying if i didnt think about MSG 98 last year, i got my first breath played at vancouver front row last year....incredible moment, AND they followed it with SOLAT too!

[on a side note, god i miss the fivehorizons days.

such good info when there wasnt much out there.

Absolutely, I long for the days when the "fans" were in charge of the "fan" forum communities.

I was at MSG 9/10/98 and MSG 2008, while 2008 was a good show the 1998 MSG shows (particularly 9/11/98)was "epic".

I would rank the 9/11/98 in the top ten Pearl Jam shows (in no particular order):

Pinkpop Festival: Landgraaf, Netherlands 1992, Magnuson (a drop in the park) Park Seattle, WA 1992, Gimli Motorsport Park: Gimli, Manitoba 1993, Atlanta 1994, Orpheum Theater: Boston, MA 1994, Soldier Field 1995, Randall's Island 1996, MSG 1998, Seattle II 2000, Boston 2003
Randalls Island New York 9/29/96 - Oakland Coliseum Oakland California 11/15/97 - MSG New York New York 09/10/98 - Key Arena Seattle Washington 11/05/00, 11/06/00 - PNC Bank Arts Center Holmdel New Jersey 7/14/03 - Tweeter Center Camden New Jersey 5/28/06, MSG New York New York 06/25/08, Spectrum Arena Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 10/27/09

I'll agree with you about 9/11. Even though I wasn't there, missed out on that one. But, that's still my fave bootleg.

But, 2nd place IMO would be MSG1, 2003. That show was just surreal as it unfolded. Best show I've ever been to. Too bad it didn't translate that well to the DVD.

    Still my favorite show!!

What I remember most, and I still get chills thinking about it, was after the show leaving the Garden the hallways were filled with energy and the crowd was singing:

" if I knew where it was I would take you there but there's much more
    than this!!!"

My first show, converted me to one of the Pearl Jam faithful for life :)
I was at MSG2 2003 as well, the energy there was physically overwhelming, literally!!

I love this f*ckin band, and all the fans, for better or worse.

Best show to date though, Philly Spectrum 10/30/2009. Go Yankees.

Have listened to them both, I can see how good they were. Hartford, Boston and the TBA will be awesome, but I have a feeling NONE of those shows will compare to the two MSG shows. I am getting more psyched for these every day! Let's get it ON!!
