So how's the new album. I know it came out months ago, but I keep forgetting to pick it up.
Is it more like Snakes & Ladder/Kill the Moonlight or Ga Ga Ga....or, and I'm being demanding here, Gimme Fiction?

My roomate used to BLAST the album "In the Moonlight"... that song "Stay Don't Go" hooked me in an instant.

Saw Spoon last Friday-- they were fantastic!!
Great venue, great show! Guest appearance by one of the dudes from the Handsome Furs.
It was a lot of fun, I definitely recommend seeing them live!
    One downside: Disappointing openers

Did Deerhunter open? My brother saw Spoon last night and he said Deerhunter was opening. I haven't talked to him yet on how the show was. I was wondering if Deerhunter was any good. I like the band but haven't seen live yet.
I am lost, I'm no guide, but I'm by your side

Two openers: The Strange Boys and Deerhunter.
The sound was a little funky for The Strange Boys- couldn't understand a word that came out of the lead singer's mouth! It was a really quick set, and I thought they were just OK in the end.

I was really looking forward to seeing Deerhunter live- I like their studio stuff. But their performance was very very long, and at times a little indulgent. It seemed like a lot of songs went on for a long time, just repeating the same phrase or riff. Ended weird too.

But on the flipside, Spoon was fantastic! Ended up being a really fun show!

Transference is pretty good, sounds like a stripped down version of Gax5.

I prefer older Spoon, though... Some of the newer individual songs are their best stuff, but those are fewer and farther between. As whole albums, the earlier stuff was better.

Don't You Evah will always be tough to beat for me, but everything from GA GA GA GA GA is gold. Same with I Turn My Camera On which as far as song titles go, is Morrissey level brilliance, which I can appreciate, lol:)

Looks cool but too expensive for me. Jack White's new one had a ton of cool features and costed much less.

Caught spoon this past weekend at Gov Ball NYC. Hadn't seen them since 2010.
