What charities do you want the pre-parties to benefit?

Seeing as we will most likely have a pre-party fundraiser at every one of the 12 dates on this tour, we have a lot of flexibility in regards to beneficiaries.

Remember, we can't support political organizations (it's against our federal 501(c)(3) regulations), and we stay away from religious organizations as well.

So, we're interested in finding out;

What charities you would you like to see as beneficiaries?
In what city do you want that charitable organization to be recognized?
Why do you feel strongly about the charity you are recommending?

  • the david sheldrick wildlife fund is a good one for those who like animals, especially elephants and rhinos. it's an orphange for elephants and rhinos but they are also involved in anti poaching and anti snaring efforts in and around tsavo national park in kenya.

    also, it's not really charity, but norml or stopthedrugwar.org. or drug policy alliance, would be good for awareness alone. with all the murder, rape, disease, hunger, child abuse and other ill shit happening in this world, we can do so much better than spending 50 billion a year to stomp on peoples personal freedoms in an effort to keep them from using drugs. there are a lot more important things to be spending that money on.

    The charity I am involved in is called "Come Unity" and we would love to have your help if that's what you decide. We are working on bettering the fresh water crisis all over the world and are currently focused on Africa right now. We just completed a well for a village in Ilbissil, Kenya. We are currently under the Compassion Corps window until we get our official Non Profit Organization status(hopefully within the year).

    Check out our website at http://comeunity.yolasite.com/. We are currently hosting a 6k walk/run in association with "The Dow 6k Run for Water". This will take place all over the world on April 18th. Our run is taking place at Beautiful Norristown Farm Park in Norristown, PA. More info on the race can be found on the website.

    I've been volunteering with these guys for some months now. Right now, almost a billion people on the planet don't have access to safe, clean drinking water. That's one in eight of us. Charity: water gives 100% of the money raised to direct project costs which I think makes it great for accountability. At least it's worth checking out. ;)

    i now it's not local to any of the shows, but my organization of choice is.... Pasado's Safe Haven Animal Rescue. They are not only local, but also go to disaster areas (like new orleans after katrina) to rescue animals.

    I would support this. :) . One charity I've supported in the past is the Dachsund rescue league, but that might be too specific for a cause of this nature.

    Read my post on page 1, that is exactly what our charity is doing also. We've already put 2 fresh water wells in Kenya and are in the planning stages of our third.

    They saved my dad's life too. He has now survived melanoma cancer and most recently prostate cancer. People come from all over to the world to the City of Hope as they are a nationwide leader in patient care and research, making strides towards beating cancer, diabetes, HIV/AIDS and other life-threatening diseases.

    Granted the wish of a family friend of mine- he was about 7 years old, HUGE Beatles fan (its the cutest thing) and they sent him & his family to London for a full Beatles experience.
