Tired for Boston - failed, tried for NY # 1, was able to click "BUY", then "CHECKOUT", then site froze before I could enter card info.....frustrasting....there's gotta be a better way...

You do know that when you are in the checkout screen and you freeze all you have to do is hit the back arrow and keep trying right? You don't lose them. I had them in my cart for almost 2 hours before the checkout finally got through all 3 stages. It must have timed out over 100 times on me.

    2. Now you're upset that the 10c got MORE tickets for MSG for fan club members. They can't win can they?

Morgie, to be clear, I think it is fantastic that there is a 10C presale for the MSG shows. But the NY shows aren't the only two that sold out.

At this point, if think my only hope to see them is to fight through the TM process and/or hope to hell the TBD show is in the local market and I can get those tix.
What you are speaks so loudly that I can not hear what you say.
  • I would love for them to go back to one pair per show. My seats were incredible in 2000. In 2003 when there was a full tour, my seats were back a bit, but still great. The row I sat in during the Toronto 2003 show was the same row my buddy got when he won the lottery in Toronto last year. Since they started doing smaller, yearly tours, my seats have got back to about row 20 on number 189 with all the traveling that happens. 20th row isn't bad at all,but I'm a pretty short dude so I have trouble seeing from that far, usually I'm good in the first 15 rows. I don't think it would be possible to go back to one pair per tour, the complaining would be insane. I think that when we order, we should be given an option of floor or lower bowl. If I'm not in the first 10 rows, I'd prefer the lower bowl in the first two sections by the stage. I've sat there for several PJ and non PJ shows and really enjoyed my experience. I think that could help get people closer to the stage all around and make people happier. I know people who don't care how close they are as long as they can see the stage dead on. Another option is to get rid of senority all together and keep the presale. REM's fanclub is first come first serve and I have very low seniority with them but I ended up in row 5 last tour. (yes I realize REM doesn't sell as many tickets as PJ). A third option could be the springsteen route. He has GA floors with a small pit up front. You get a number between 2 and 5pm day of the show and they do a random drawing. They usually let anywhere from 200-500 people in the pit. If your number isn't drawn you're still on the floor. It takes a little organization and a bit of effort on the fan's part, but I think that's a pretty good system. They might even be able to adapt that system so only 10C members get a shot at the lottery.
  • Remember when you had to camp out in front of a Ticketmaster location in order to get tickets....

    I seriously miss that.....

werd! When I was 15 (89 or 90?) I spent my entire spring break camping out for Crue tickets...it was a one-week bender, with about 3-400 people partying there by the end of the week. 8-) Good times!

Then there was the time I camped out for the 93 PJ/NY/Blind Melon show in Van...overnight, just to find out the floor was GA when they went onsale
  • I remember being happy to get my Lolla tix in 92. I was wearing an onion on my belt, which was the style at that time.

I also remember the good ole days.

2010 when I got Ten Club tickets for Boston
2009 when I got Ten Club tickets for LA and SD
2008 when I got Ten Club tickets for MSG 1 and 2 and EV solo shows X2
2006 when I got Ten Club tickets for Denver, LV, SD, LA X2, SB

    And on and on.

Fucking love this system and love being in this club. It kicks ass.

P.S. I just ignore the bitching and it is as if it doesn't exist.

It does kind of suck, in the sense that, I could get better seats if everyone could only get one show, but in 2003 it was two shows, right? and my seats werent any better than they were in 2000 or 2006.

With that said, really, the only places that have problems are the big markets. NYC, Boston, maybe Philly. As someone who lives in Columbus, and had no problem getting tickets for here, or Cleveland, and could have easily gotten Indy tickets, I have no reason to complain. There are way more people in NYC and surrounding areas, and people seem to think those shows will be better than the others (not true, I was at MSG Night 2 in 2003 and it ranks towards the bottom of my 7 shows) so people travel even further to go to those shows, which makes it even harder to get tickets. There is not much they can do about it, except play a fan club only show at MSG or something, which still wouldnt sell out, but might help.

The reason I said it wouldn't is because in 2003 Ed announced how many Fan Club members were there, and it was only like 9,000, which isn't even half the capacity, and as many Fan Club members wanted seats got them.

Now, if PJ announced it was going to be a fan club only show, and it was one of the only shows of the year, then I could see it maybe selling out, but like I said, they sold 9,000 in 2003, probably sell a little less now, so I that lead me to believe a sell out might not happen.

You do know the band only gets 10%-15% of tickets at each venue and the rest of the tickets are ticketmaster.

Now, yes, but in 2003, either the rules were different, or PJ worked out an exception with Ticketmaster. Go listen to the boots and you will hear Ed menion how many people are there, and also, you wont find anyone on here who tried to get tickets to those shows who didnt, because there was no limit. And as for my hypothetical situation, obviously PJ would have to work out an exception to ever play a fan club only show at a big place like MSG.
