Why would Pearl Jam not come to Chicago the entire Backspacer tour?
I just don't get that decision?

I guess they figured the 2 pre-BS shows were enough. I was shocked too... coming to STL/IN/OH but not Chicago seems really odd to me.

we 've been super-spoiled over the last 5 years and they played 2 shows here less than a year ago (yes, I know it wasnt technically the BS tour, but only we uber-fans care about that).

I do think we'll get shows in the fall. dont get me wrong, I'm slightly disappointed too, but I thought there was less than a 10% chance that Chicago or Alpine would get a show this spring. I think 2 nights at Alpine in the fall to start the tour.
Found: Soundgarden Hyde Park DVD (Thank you for the gift!)

I just dont see a fall tour this year... not with the Soundgarden stuff coming up.

I hope I'm wrong, but I think this is it for the US aside from maybe some 20th anniversary stuff.

They played two shows here less than a year ago. Okay, technically it was a warmup, but it was pretty close to the start of the "official" tour and both shows were amazing! I'm just happy they're playing close enough to drive. Definitely going to Noblesville and Cleveland. Might have to throw St. Louis in the mix, too. Woo hoo!!!!!!!!!! CANNOT WAIT FOR THESE SHOWS!!!!!!!!!

They played 1 song from Backspacer and it was The Fixer that was not part of the Backspacer tour.
They always have at least 5 stops in New England every little tour.

According to my bootlegs and memories they played The Fixer, Got Some, and Supersonic at the Chicago shows. Am I missing any? Anyway, I hear what you're saying and I wish they were playing here at home, too. At least they're playing close enough to drive. I'm stoked!

I hope now more people will understand why the Texans have been complaining. There has been 1 show close enough to drive in 7 years and that was a festival show that lasted under 2 hours.

Nope...played Fixer and Got Some at both shows, think they only played Supersonic at Night 1. Maybe I'm wrong, but that's what I remember.

they're not playing philly or LA or any of the other cities thay were just in, either. they don't play long ass tours anymore...they play out for a month or so and go home to be with their families for a while. they might add some fall shows down the line, but don't count on it. after europe matt will probably be out with soundgarden for a while.

  • if they hate touring so much they should just pull a Celine Dion and play in Vegas every night. she made lots of money doing that. PJ could too.
  • we are spoiled being Chicagoans, they did 2 shows last year and Eddie did 2 solo shows the year before.
i'll hopefully make it to indy, if not, no biggie.
i'll keep my fingers crossed for a fall tour.

I hear that - without checking, I think it's been about five years since they were last in Louisiana, and we finally got them to come to Jazzfest - an awesome festival, but the headliners only get to play from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. I'll go and see them play, and then be at Masparos in time for dinner lol Would've made more sense for them to play Voodoofest, but with the Soundgarden going on it doesn't look like they'll be doing a whole lot in October.
And I listen for the voice inside my head... nothing. I'll do this one myself.

    This is right.

A little surprised no Chicago considering they are going to be in the midwest, but cant complain since there were the 2 shows in August. Hoping they hit Alpine/Chicago in the fall.

I'm from Minneapolis myself and the last time we had Pearl Jam to ourselves was in June of 2003. They did open two shows for Tom Petty in June of 2006, but that was a little disappointing. Don't get me wrong, Pearl Jam was amazing, but they only played for about 60 Minutes, and the Ticket Prices were $87.00! I like Tom Petty and all, but they could have at least done a co-headlining thing where they split 90 minute set times or something. Aside from this the last time Pearl Jam was in Minneapolis was June of 1998. I know it's expensive and straining on families to do these tours, but Minneapolis or St. Paul would LOVE to have Pearl Jam back in town!!! Even a Duluth show would be amazing :D Thanks for listening to me vent!! Peace!!

Yeah, I'm not surprized. We just had two shows.
  • they played Backspacer songs in Chicago. Jesus, you people will bitch about anything. It's been less than a year since they played Chicago. Get a grip, some people haven't seen PJ near their hometown in almost a decade, and you're whining b/c they don't come back every 6 months?

I think you'll see them in chicago after Europe sometime. I have a feeling they will play more US dates in august, sept, and/or October.

As for soundgarden, I don't see them
playing 30 + dates, more like a 12-15 date thing, so Matt will have plenty of time to play with pj.
