I love this time change. The later it stays lighter out, the better. My mom loves it. She doesn’t drive in the dark anymore so she gets more time to be out and about.

True. Have time to do things outside later into the evening.

I do not mind the time change. My meeting is still at 9am and I still need coffee to make it.

BC went to cancel this bullshit. My Manitoba Premier says we're sticking with this nonsensical semi-annual bullshit. Saskatchewan has never done daylight savings. Time to get with the program, rest of the world. It literally makes no fucking sense in modern times.
I’m all for ending the change in BC but it’s goofy to me that they’re leaving it on daylight savings time and not standard time.
This means that in winter the kids will now be walking to school in pitch black darkness for a good chunk of time.
well it's either walk to school in the dark or walk home from school in the dark. I prefer DST if it were be permanent.

Earliest it gets dark in BC is 4:30 so they never walked home in the dark.

Leave the minority with the time change if they see it as a problem. Have students start an hour later in the day Oct-Feb then resume normal hours Mar-Sept.

my wife would agree with you about the darkness thing (she hated our kids crossing a major street in broad daylight), I just personally don't think it matters. I mean, I used to get to running club at 7am in elementary/junior high 3 days a week in the pitch black, and nothing ever happened. Nothing happened to any of us. Sure, there are shitty drivers, just teach your kids to be aware and not be on their phones when crossing the street and they'd be fine.

I wore my walkman everywhere I went. Even on my bike. lol But I still looked both ways.

School age people are the largest population of the planet not the minority. Us old folks are the minority even though we like to think we’re the most important 😆

While I think it's stupid, I don't mind the time changes. However, they wreak havoc on toddlers and my son is proving to be no exception. Hell hath no fury like an out of sync toddler.

22% of the US population as of 2022. They're called minors for a reason

I’d wager that is the largest age group in the US though. I’m not familiar with individual US #s but I believe worldwide people under 40 make up roughly 63% of the pop. When you break under 40s down the pop of under 20s is larger than the 20-40s. Naturally for the world’s population to continually grow as it does there has to be more youngsters than old folks otherwise population would stagnate or drop.

Agreed. Eby justified it by saying that the vast majority of people are more active in the evenings than in the mornings. ??? I'd like to see the data he based that on! I'm also not a fan of being out of sync with everyone else, at least for now. All in all, I'm not in favour of this. I'm never going to be sure what time it is in other places now. If everyone else was also doing it, I'd feel better about it.
