Festivals help get the word out, but if we can find the money we'd like to do a one week run in about 10 theaters across the country before the television premiere next year. Very expensive though.

Yeah. That's our hope too. At this point, the sky is the limit for this little flick.

I have had the privledge of seeing this film... and trust me... it is both shocking and moving. It's very intresting to see how total injustice can run rampant on a community and people of lower middle class (at best).

The way Long Road is used over the last 6 minutes of this film is heartbreaking and hopeful in it's reflection of the story through the images of the main characters. It brings you to tears.

Don and Dana should be congratulated for their hard and relentless work to get this film to the finish line. Make no mistake...there is still work to be done and the Pearl Jam community could certainly have a say before it's said and done.

Sean and Eddie are people of dignity and class...once again using their status as icons for the greater good. True Patriots.

Congratulations again to all involed! Great Film!

For those who scoff at "Jamily" in my name... 9 years ago, when my first daughter was born there were jokes about whether my priority would be my family or PJ. I smiled and quipped "I am a JamilyMan." What was a family joke became a hated term among jammers. Didn't see that one coming!

why did you choose not to use the mansfield live version?

It's the version that first drew you to using the song?

Cool story! So did Eddie in turn get Sean Penn involved? That's crazy that it's your first movie and you guys are struggling, and next thing you know Sean is producing and narrating it.

Cool story! Another proof that the band have their hearts in the right place!
Just watched the trailer and even that little clip made a great impact on me. It sounds like it's a story that needs to be told! It would be great if you could bring the film over to Europe!

  • Thanks everybody for the great posts. I'll be sure to keep updating the board with new information about the film whenever possible.

It's interesting, a few people have asked if Eddie helped us contact Sean Penn and the answer is no. We approached Sean separately before we even knew about Into the Wild. Then, as we were waiting to hear back from Sean, I started to read about the friendship these two men had. I figured they knew each other from the Dead Man Walking days...heck these guys know just about everybody...but to read about them collaborating on a project at the same time as we were working with them was totally bizarre. Personally, I think Into the Wild should have been recognized as the best picture of last year.

As I mentioned a few pages back. We're going to screen the film at the Denver Film Festival on November 20th and 21st. Come check it out if you're in the area. Then, we're planning a huge northern California premiere for the end of February. That one may even be a benefit for the Innocence Project as well. I can't say much more about it yet, but I'll keep you posted.

Good question. I would have loved to use that version, but the clapping and WooHoo'ing at the beginning of the song we're impossible to edit out and wildly inappropriate to leave in.

Does anyone know of a live version of Long Road without any crowd noise? The only one I can think of comes from the America Tribute to Heroes Concert.

    Thanks,
