songs you love from bands you dont

shiver by coldplay. love this song! it gets me, i think its fantastic. the rest of coldplay i just dont care for, from the music to the image, chris martin...meh
another one is long december by the counting crows. ive loved this song since the moment i first heard it. tho i have to admit that the counting crows has seemed to grow on me some in the last year. i still dont own any albums and could only name one or two other songs. but long december ive always loved
one head light by the wallflowers tho im not sure this counts. i mean jakob dylan is little more than a one hit wonder (oh and bob dylans kid of course) but one head light usually gets my stereo up to full volume

And I like a couple of the old U2 songs, and I hate U2.
It's a song I really like, but I hate Liam Gallagher... I think he is so cocky... IMHO.
"... Tan suato mi'jo!!"
-Salomón & Artemisa Vargas
Hed P.E. - The meadow. LOVE the song, but I can't get into the rest of their music

Kid Rock - Cowboy. This guy should have been a one hit wonder!
Don't exactly love it, but I actually like Creed's Overcome (their new one)
i hear ya
its not like that stuff is a deal breaker for me most of the time when the music is good, but sometimes the other things in the package really do stand out or have an effect
for example i really like marilyn manson's whole look and vibe and thing, i think its weird and different and cool and has something to it but im not particularly into the sound. i dont listen to it or own the albums or even keep it on when it comes on the radio
but i dont wanna derail my own thread here

i was thinking kings of leon - trani

Have you heard Ryan Adams do a cover of this? It is ten times better than the original.

Check out their album "August and Everything After"...it doesn't have Long December, but nonetheless, it's one of the best debut albums I think I've ever heard.

One of the Gallaghers, not sure which one, whoever wrote the song, said that Ryan Adam's cover of Wonderwall was the way that song was supposed to sound. He likes the Ryan Adams version way better than their own. I have to agree.

Yeah. Noel said that. They have a live Noel album on itunes for The Teenage Cancer Trust, and he does the Ryan Adams version on it.

You know what? I picture her naked when I hear the song, so now I can't think of whether it's the actual song or not that I enjoy.

Hmm.....interesting. It's weird because I've always kinda tried to like them because I think Edge is a pretty cool guitarist and I like a lot of his effects. But I tried The Joshua Tree a few years years ago and just couldn't bring myself to be remotely interested in it. I tried again more recently by downloading their discography off a torrent. I tried bits and pieces off a few albums, but deleted it the same day I downloaded it. To this day, I always change the channel when I hear them on the radio and the only songs I like are Elevation and Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me.....which are two of their more "throw-away" type of singles. But that may be what I like about them.

Oh agreed! I love that song, but don't really care for Aerosmith now (though I used to be a fan)
ok, some songs I love from bands I have outgrown or just don't really care for much
Dream on - Aerosmith
Wanted dead or alive and Santa Fe - Bon Jovi
Estranged and Don't cry - Guns and Roses
The scientist and Fix you - Coldplay
Bedshaped - Keane
My immortal - Evanescence
Safe and sound - Sheryl Crow
Masterplan - Oasis
side note: I love Ryan Adams version of Wonderwall and pretty much hate the original
If I knew where it was I would take you there.
If I knew where it was I would take you there.
Like other songs by them too, but not they're nothing like this one. This song kicks ass, which is about the opposite of what you think of with the rest of their songs
