Why Great Britain? I know that!!!! And not because I know English history but because I know my French one (well not really history....). Brittania minor was used to reference Brittany (Bretagne) in France and Brittania major in reference to the big island which was Britain! Then Great Britain was officially used by various monarchs after that. Britain is obviously land of the Britons (which the Bretons were too!).

I even think that Aristotle mentioned Britain way back then... (can't get away from those greeks!)

It's a bit rich of the Germans to suggest this... here is a country that stole millions of valuable artifacts and art from every country it plundered through back in WW2.... I'm pretty sure it still has gold hidden somewhere in Switzerland.

and England doesnt have Greek artifacts and stuff in its musems... the UK does... the first clue is in the name of the Museum, which is the British Museum, not the English Museum.

sorry, but until Scotland gets independence I'll always point shit like that out ;)

Help me out there because I'm an ignorant American whose education system has failed him. Is England the whole entire island landmass comprised of the UK, Ireland, and Scotland or is the whole entire thing called the UK and England is a country within the UK?

UK = England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. All 4 are independent countries that make up a United Kingdom.
oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

I've only seen bits and pieces on what's happening in Greece. So how bad is it? I thought the EU would help out fellow EU members? I think that is crazy to ask Greece to sell land and artwork.
