I was goinng to suggest randalls island BUT we all already know how much of a fucking nightmare it is.....hmmm perhaps maybe another 3 nights at jones beach????
A nightmare? I'll take the traffic if they play like they did. Hardly a nightmare. Well worth it. Better than booze-free, drug-free, fun-free, view-free, Central Park.
Last Concert i went to at Jones Beach was Booze-Free, Judas Preist & Dio, No BEER, WTF?

that's what j meant by nightmare. We all didn't have boats to boat us away to the city like pj did. Both shows were incredible and the rain during black was fucken euphoric....
After the centralpark show pearl jam will travel to philly and perform 1 more show at the spectrum. But this one will be played on the roof so they can actually tear it off this time. And this shows boots will be available around the time hell freezes over. Ap reports
Randall's Island was a nightmare. After wading in the mud and waiting an hour to get out of the parking lot the drunk guys in the car in front of us fell asleep and we couldn't get out. Took a lot of noise to wake them.
I'm scheduled to be back home in NYC July 16th to the 21st, so if my luck holds PJ will probably play the park July 24th.
If by some improbable chance they play the 17th do you think my family will forgive me for missing our family reunion?

I missed a wedding to see Led Zeppelin in London a couple of years ago -- everyone eventually got over it. And I never regretted that decision (though I would have regretted missing the show)

Dude, the traffic sucked and it sucks you had to endure that. I remember it took 3 hours to get out of the parking lot. But those fucking shows were fucking unreal. I'm sorry but traffic after an unbelievable concert is NOT a nightmare. Traffic for a shit show? Then you got a point.
I "saw" (couldn't see, the sound was awful and people EVERYWHERE) Dave Matthews for free at Central Park and I wanted my money back. That fucking sucked. That was a nightmare.
Oh yeah and Dave Matthews kind of sucks too. Why'd I go? All my friends wanted to go and it was free and I'd never seen a show at Central Park before. Learned a valuable lesson: 1 nothing is free. 2. Dave Matthews kind of sucks!
It took us 3 hours to get out of that parking lot. It was very very crazy.
btw, I'm not discounting that PJ may play Central Park right away. I've been hoping for a cool place like that for a (free?) festival show, though it would probably be less enjoyable than their normal locations for us regulars. It is cool to dream of what could be.

I hear you-I was lucky enough to see them at MSG in 88'-well Page, Plant, John Paul Jones, and JASON Bonham.
Was the closest I could get to seeing the real thing and was the most amazing 5 songs I've ever seen!!! There would have been no wedding to keep me away from seeing them either!!! The only thing I missed as did everyone else was the train b/c Zeppelin didn't come on till 12:30 a.m.

Sweet photos!!- I can remember after Zeppelin left the stage at MSG people just sitting in thier seats and crying not beleiving what they just saw. They could have read the phone book and it would have been awesome!!!

Bon Jovi played in central park 2 years ago and it was pretty awesome. I am pretty sure Pearl Jam would put his show to shame. Central Park at night would be so freaking awesome don't doubt it. Greatest City in the world with the greatest band in the world.
They would just need fireworks to top the Lollapalooza 2007 performance when fireworks magically went off over the lake michigan in the middle of their set.
pfffffffffff........yeah.......well i heard they were playing the fucking Smurf's village when they get back from Europe...so this can't be accurate!!!!
~ Balongna, they are playing 4 straight nights in Walnut Grove, right next to the Olsen's mercantile. Pearl Jam tour posters will be on sale right next to the candy sticks and the material rolls. Also bring your old cell phones and eggs and recieve a free duffel bag of PJ goodies. ~
