your "counterpoints" did not even answer his questions. numbers 3 and 4 did not have anything to do with his points 3 and 4. ever think that is why he did not give credence to them or reply to them? i would not have.

So you believe that compliance with U.N resolutions represents "...part of a plot to impose 'one-world government' on liberty-loving Americans"?

Maybe you can enlighten us as to just how this works?

This has nothing to do with people caring, or with people becoming politically conscious/aware. This is about people being whipped into a state of fear by a right-wing media circus that sees universal health care - among other things - as an attempt to turn the U.S into Stalinist Russia. Quite frankly, this isn't a case of the U.S citizenry opening their eyes and becoming smarter, but a symptom of how pliable, fearful, and ignorant most people are in the U.S.

Nice attempt to evade the issue. There are gun toting loons turning up at Presidential speeches brandishing signs that encourage the killing of the President, and any other 'tyrants'. I take it you have no problem with this?

What problem do you have in mind? That someone will take your precious gun away? Yeah, best knuckle down and get ready for a civil war, or an invasion from Cuba.

The author didn't say anything about their right to march. But it's telling that you feel threatened by Universal health care, yet you see no problem with thousands of armed rednecks descending on the Capital.

I don't believe we should follow international law that restricts freedoms of US citizens.

Show me someone who threatened to kill the President, and I'll show you someone the Secret Service has been in contact with. Isn't even the talk of doing bad things to a President grounds for arrest? It should be. I'm guessing there is a bit of drama going on here.

I said I was a survivalist. You know being prepared? Who said anything about taking away a gun? I'm taking about natural disasters and being attacked with chem agents or something biological or nuclear. Or do you not see that as a possibility?

Yes, only rednecks own guns. You know I'm sick of reality, can I play in your world?

sorry, i take politics and my music very seriously. i am willing to help out anyone on the m&g forum because we are all there for the same reason, to learn something and help one another out. i am fairly experienced with being in a band for the last 7 years and playing 35-45 shows a year in that time that i feel i have something to offer from my experiences.

here on the train everyone takes themselves and their politics very seriously and as a result people grasp at straws and threads get derailed all the time. there is nothing worse than trying to debate or make a point in a derailed thread. i sometimes feel like a congressman in some of these threads with all the crap that has to be sorted through to get to the point.

my reply to you was out of frustration of what the thread has become so i lashed out and for that i am sorry. no hard feelings on my end...with all of the partisanship and general anger from both sides on this forum it can wear on you if you are here long enough and i think that is what happened to me yesterday.

Eh, I'd have a beer with anyone here, just don't talk politics because we are likely to disagree and that would ruin my buzz.

So nobody was seen at any Obama speech holding signs that said the 'tree of liberty' needs to be 'watered' with 'the blood of tyrants'? The author of the article must have just made that up then, right?

Do you just say anything that comes to your mind? Actually one of the only Republicans that was prepared for the Summit and not just talking points, Senator Coburn, had some very good ideas that I am pretty sure Obama incorporated. Oh yeah, hes a doctor.

i know for a fact that most doctors who are practicing do not know much about how insurance works. that is why they hire billing and coding professionals to take care of that for them. these billing people know the ins and outs of insurance and all of the plans. the docs know what is not covered by certain insurances, like certain meds are not covered by certain insurance and certain office procedures that we would like to do are not covered by certain insurances, but we have to get prior authorization or precertification before we can proceed with some things like braces and boots, and certain injections. does anyone really think these non-practicing doctors that have been in congress understands how much things have changed in the last 20 years? i doubt it..

prfeclefts would have all of us believe that obama is ignoring the GOP's requests when he is implementing four of their ideas into his own bill he is constructing...

Yeah there you go with your smart ass comments. I don't give a fuck what you believe Jerk, But in the meantime why don't you go ask a few doctors and see what they have to say about obama's bill. ask them who's going to treat 30 million more patients ? Better yet why dont you go ask any Med student what they think about it and then get back to us.

and there's at least half a dozen i wouldn't like to be within 500 miles of. ever.

it must really make you angry when you are confronted with things like facts from people that have real world experience in the medical field. my post is completely true and i know that because i live in that world every day.

obviously you can't debate my points without calling me names. that is the first sign of a lost debate, and a feeble mind, and it makes you look very foolish. instead of bashing me personally why don't you do a little looking into it? you seem to forget i work in an orthopedic doctor's office and this topic of conversation comes up frequently. we have discussed this ad nauseum in meetings and amongst ourselves and we give our patients the facts about what is in the bill, which i am sure you have not read. we provide FACTS, which is something you obviously do not have, because everything you post is a right wing talking point or a scare tactic. doctors are not in the position to dabble in propaganda, they are there to educate their patients. have you ever had a doctor tell you something like "there is a 99% chance this ACL will not heal on its own, we can pray about it and maybe it will" when it is scientifically proven that the ACL does not heal on its own? it is the same thing you are doing, spreading falsehoods disguised as the scary truth..

there is talk of having the government actually pay for med students complete and entire education if they go into primary care instead of specialty. if the government was going to pay for my > $100,000 education to insure i would be debt free coming out of school and able to get capital to start my own office you could be damn sure i would consider it. you have no solutions, only more of the same whining and you clearly know nothing about the bill. you might want to see a licensed medical professional about your paranoia and your anger/hostility issues...and since you are against public insurance, why don't you pay cash and prove us all wrong?

Haha, well I'm not one am I??? Seriously though in the end everyone just wants what they think is best for the country, I hope. I also think most people are on this board for one real reason anyway.
