Rae who was an NDP now a Liberal :? who's former colleague don't care for the guy-have some integrity. You'll never change my opinion.

i haven't once tried to sway your opinions of Liberals ... in fact, i've spent more time typing telling that point ...

my contentions are with the actions of Harper ... of which you've just simply pointed to Liberals which would lead me to believe that you don't have a response to the issues i've raised ...

    bt
as a person who has lived in Toronto all his life i don't know many people who think we are the center of the universe just of Canada :D

also, i have seen you say this twice so far about Iggy not living in Canada and i ask what does that matter. he had a great job in the US teaching at a well known school. do you not admit that there are people who have lived in Canada their whole life but don't know anything about this country. Iggy is a smart guy and i think would be a good leader.[/quote]

Then vote him. I doubt he'll win.

It's not just not about what you know, it's about your influence's and he's spent to much time in the states and Britain for my liking. When he was living in the states he said we should have follwed the states to Iraq, yeah smart guy. it's already bad enough we won't cut our ties to England by getting rid of the governor general, now people want a leader who could be influeced by the USA.

    Polaris....

My response to you about Harper is quite simple he's better than than the other current choices and I prefer him over Martin or Jean. I've pretty much said that. As for everything he's done, what proroguing? They've all done it...so...get over. As for tax cuts to corporations it's a necessary evil, these company's provide a good living for a lot of people, I know, my grandfather worked at ford in the 30's and 40's and beleive the autoworkers standard of living has gone way up, partly do the union partly do to the company. Do a little research and see how society has benefited from corporations.

I like having the Governor general. I mean by having a figurehead it means there is someone important on staff to do all the bullshit stuff that a country is supposed to do. I mean look at all the crap that the US president has to do that has nothing to do with governing. I mean stuff like pardoning turkeys, or giving out arts awards, or meeting boy scouts or greeting dignitaries. By having a GG that means the PM can focus on actually running the government rather than doing all of that other crap.

Now getting rid of the senate is a whole differnt story.

dude ... it's not the fact he prorogued gov't ... it's the reasons why ... plus, there is a plethora of other issues that have been mentioned on here ... if you believe in the autoworkers ... read the latest press release by the CAW i provided earlier ... they pretty much blast the gov't for another bad budget ... read also what they wrote about this gov'ts action on climate change ...

anyhoo - you can reply to this and i will give you the last word ... as anyone who's gonna tell me to do a little research about how great corporations are clearly is not working with the same understandings as i am ...

oh ... and your concerns about iggy being influenced by the US is strange considering Harper has been most influenced by the US ... they call him Bush-lite for a reason ... he has been step for step with US policy where before we used to have an independent voice ...
