yes and you were probably very serious and responsible about your driving. Most truck drivers are awesomely so. Unfortunately thats not often the case with your average driver out there these days which you probably know and have seen from driving for a living. So often you see somebody doing something stupid like not judging how fast someone is going and cutting out in front of them. Running lights or not maintaining lane and sure enough you pass them and there's the phone in their hand and they seem oblivious to the danger. Thats really the kicker they don't even realize how badly they are driving.

It's illegal here in NZ too. Still see the odd dickhead driving while on the phone, some people will never learn!

  • I text while driving but I know the keys on the front of the phone and it resolves the words for me. My eyes don't leave the road. This has resulted in some really funny messages sent when the numbers punched actually can result in multiple words and I wasn't proof reading before hitting send. This "not looking" approach has worked fine for me but I also realize the brain is already so overwhelmed that even though I'm staring at the road my brain is still being distracted by the phone. Small arguing children in the back seat are even more distracting while driving :)

I just quit smoking a month ago to live so I guess I can give up texting too.

I saw that episode, that was pretty intense. The Association I work for has a program to warn teenagers about the danger of texting and driving. But it's not just teenagers. I have so many friends who do it and Im constantly yelling at them. People just can't comprehend why it's so dangerous. :?

i talk, text, facebook, surf the web... all of it

but here's the thing... i'm smart enough to multitask all these things

some people can't handle driving and thinking at the same time ... nevermind working an electronic gadget

oh and when i see people weaving because they're on the phone or texting... i always blast my horn obnoxiously

    :)

I am always surprised that texting while driving is that big a problem. Then again I don't understand what anyone over the age of 14 would be doing sending a text message.

but it wasn't the texting that killed him... it was the driving on the wrong side of the road

so you don't have any friends that use technology... that makes it a immature thing to do?
