I agree completely, and if you have a closer look at this product description, this guy claims he obtained the signatures personally, and the value of that (as I write this post) is currently $39 Australian

i'm with you on this, i met don mattingly, my childhood hero a couple of years back, shook his hand and had a conversation with him, he singed a ball for me, but years later i look at it, it's just a fuckin ball, if i lose it, so what, i got to meet don mattingly and have a conversation with him, thats the treasure.

how true. I met Matt Cameron backstage at a Soundgarden concert in '94, and he signed my backstage pass which I still have. I rarely even look at it, but I look back fondly at our half hour conversation, laughing at Ben running around the parking lot, and just remembering how down to earth and cool he was.

That being said, a few of my gig posters that I have are signed, and those are pretty cool too.

but what happens when you look at that backstage pass? what happens when you look at that baseball? it a symbol reminding you of the time you met the person. i'm sure if you really did lose that baseball, you'd be more upset than you say you would

mikey's sig is a bit suspect...

He's fairly consistant and that looks like a bad copy..

I have a signed setlist "the Master" handed me personally (shameless bragging!) and have researched others signed stuff on Flicker..

As for the original signed item in question.

100% high end forgery in my opinion.

    what's a "Secretarials"?

A secretarial signature is an item signed by a famous persons secretary. Also known as ghost signed, or clubhouse signed.

It is sadly very common. Babe Ruth had a famous secretary who signed a lot of his fan mail. If you want a Bernie Williams autograph just send it to an address in, I think, Puerto Rico. It didn't matter if he was traveling on a 3 week west coast trip, that item would be signed by his brother and postmarked back within a few days.
Complete with SDG inscribed. Some type of religious thing.

I collected in person at Fenway Park when I was in High School. The 1992 Upper Deck were my favorite. Then when my son was born in 2003, I dug out my old collection and realized I had around 200 out of the 800 1992 UD cards signed.

So I made a project of sending TTM (through the mail) to try and finish the set. I've now completed 770 out of the 800, and have only 30 more until its done.

I would say about 200 of them were obtained in person, probably 300 TTM, another 150 were traded for, and the others were purchased.

    It's been fun.

Okay guys, I nabbed a pick when I was at a Metallica concert. I thought it was really cool at the time, but then I was curious as to how much it's worth. So rather than have any semblance of reality whatsoever, I made up a number that I think is fair. My kid's school clothes don't pay for themselves.
