Question: Is it only the athletes that are rewarded with medals or do the coaches also receive medals too?

Congratulations ladies, job well done. A special congratulations goes out to Meghan Agosta tournament MVP, who happens to be from the same area as where I reside.

let the athletes celebrate...they weren't snorting lines off each others asses, they were drinking beer...hell in canada isn't that considered a sport??!
That's ridiculous! Let them party it up, it's the biggest achievement of their lives.
On the other subject, only the players receive the medals.
I receive emails now and then from Mel Davidson (coach for Team Canada) and can't wait to read the next one on their big win. Here's the email from her before the gold medal game if any of you are interested. A bit of a read but great if you're a fan! I'm sure she wouldn't mind me posting it here....
How about those gold medals!!!!
Scott and Tessa in dance, Ashleigh in Ski Cross setting women’s ice hockey up nicely for our upcoming game!
We were all in Hockey House last night cheering Scott and Tessa on – medal presentation saw the entire room of our family/friends stand and sing O Canada what a proud moment and what a great story they are.
After months of hard work, we are down to one practice and three periods – wow – hard to believe. The game against the Finns was a terrific tune up for us – they always seem to play us well and last night was no exception. I was proud of our group, usually the Finnish squad can frustrate us immensely – on a scale of 1 to 10…..our frustration at their trap is around a 10. Last night we managed those emotions very well and I would rate our frustration level only around a 3, which is huge and a part of our successful victory.
How about the crowd singing O Canada with a few minutes left in the game – I usually block out much of the noise but you could not miss that – it made me want to sing right along with them.
Now it is on to the Americans – day off today, back on ice tomorrow along with some video prep then it is go time. Regardless of the outcome it is going to be a great game – one game winner takes all.
The men have been having their challenges this tournament but don’t count them out – they are determined to win this thing – today’s game will be big – yes they have to win but in doing so they also need to build some offensive confidence and become comfortable in their own end which I am sure they will do. The goaltending decision is always difficult – I have a tough one to make in the next 24 hours – they are all so good and desperately want the final game of the season.
The day Canada and the USA played it was incredible – we were driving home from practice and the streets were deserted……a few random people but honest to god – no one was on the streets. When we got back to the village and off the bus we could hear the roar from Canada Hockey Place – how incredible – I had gotten 4 tickets for the game through the lottery and was able to secure 6 more so the second round of family that arrived over the weekend was able to attend the game. We also were able to find 2 more tickets so Loretta and Joan could go – it sounded like all had a great time. It was also exciting to watch the Canada/USA street hockey game in Kandahar – in case you did not see the score of that game we clobbered the USA – way to go Canada!
I was able to get the whole crew tickets to the game vs Germany – they just sent a message that they were there rows 3,4,5 and are decked out in their red and whites ready for a Canadian victory.
I was able to catch up with everyone at Hockey House last night for about an hour – Bob Nicholson kindly opened up his president’s lounge so I could take my group in and spend some quiet time with them – well it was not quiet time so maybe just time is a better descriptor. They were all having a terrific time, lots of pictures being taken – Mom and Dad had a long day as they attended the 9:00 am Canada / USA curling draw and I did not make it to Hockey House until around 8:30 pm
As I mentioned in earlier emails – the Canada team has two of the buildings along the waterfront in the Olympic Village and in our building the 12th floor is the players lounge – rumor has it some mean games of ping pong have been going on with our players and the men’s teaming up for some mixed doubles competition. I had the pleasure of meeting Sidney Crosby’s family last night Troy and Trina (dad and mom) plus his sister Taylor who is a young up and coming goaltender in Nova Scotia – also with them was an Aunt (unfortunately I can’t remember her first name). I was pressed for time but hope to find some time to spend with them in the days to come – Taylor is almost bigger than Sidney and she is only 13 years old!
Also got to say hi to Pat Quinn and Tyler Stewart (Barenaked Ladies) – who are both huge fans of the women’s game. Tyler has been here since the start of the Olympics, also here earlier was Tom Cochrane and his wife Kathy – Derek and I had our picture taken with them following the game vs Sweden (I don’t do many pictures so that is a worthy note).
Goyettey and Sandy arrived for our game yesterday – it was terrific to see her. Danielle has been a huge help to our team over the season, I know the players were excited to see her as was I. I have been really fortunate to have Cassie Campbell and Danielle to chat with all season – good player and team perspective on a regular basis – always honest, never pushy and always in the best interests of us being successful. It was an honor to have coached them and in more an honor to say they are my friends now!
Our living arrangements are going well here – Marco and I spend a lot of time on video – he is incredible when it comes to video. When we were at 4 nations we had the player’s draw teammate’s name out of the hat and they had to choose a movie, cartoon, some type of video clip that reminded them of the person they had drawn. Here at the Olympics – we are using shorter version of those clips along with pictures sent by the families of their daughters when they were young or generally just any picture that might embarrass them – our own version of Rick Hansen’s Difference Makers. We show them before the game in the dressing room or before/after practice – it is keeping us loose and laughing and man are some of the pictures embarrassing – you never know when that costume you wore before you knew better will come back to haunt you. Doug and Peter are also in our apartment – they are always on the go and seem to be truly enjoying their Olympic experience.
That is probably enough reading material for now – we are often asked about the pressure of playing in front of the home crowd – the weight of a country on our shoulders…….
I want to tell you we do not view it as pressure we view it as excitement and it is not weight on our shoulders – it is power in our skating; grit around the net; toughness in the battles – it is everything we need to represent you with all the pride in the world.
Until next time cheer the men on, cheer our curlers on, cheer all our athletes on – they need to know you are behind them and your support will carry them not defeat them
Have a great night

At least they are consistantly horrible on both sides, but one minute they are calling everything, the next, the whistles get put away.

Yes. Good job
I believe that it's only the athletes.
