fuck 6 @ 210.....but I heard grienke talked to bochy, righetti and buster for 3.5 hours

gotta think the MVP, 3x WS, ROY, comeback POY might have an impact.

47-61 with a 4.09 ERA lifetime is worth $18mil a year? I'm in the wrong fucking profession.

Now you have MadBum and a bum.

I assume the Leake contract will follow shortly as well. This has been backup plan all along. I didnt want all that dead money on the back of Greinke's deal but this is not much better.

They had a deal on the table for Carrasco. It was Belt and Panik. Arroyo can take second base over easily and you could have tried Susac at first. Tomlinson also played decent or Panik last season so you had a backup plan there. Much better than this shit fest.

But who knows, maybe Righetti can pull a Bosio/Arrieta with Shark. He does have that one game out of every 7-8 where he's just on that night. If he could just learn to harness that more often than throwing like it's BP.

Leake is as good as gone. Giants want to sit on the starter market through the winter meetings and scoop someone up at the end that got left out of the big deals. Between Heston, Beede and Blackburn they feel they have young depth for the back end of the rotation and don't want to shell out large bucks for a guy. Heston probably takes that Petit role so it is between a FA, Beede or Blackburn to earn that 5th spot in spring training.

LF is priority and hearing it will probably be Upton, Gordon or Zobrist. Evans said they still have cash for one more big signing. Zobrist visited team yesterday.

I'm not giving up on Leake. Leake and Gordon would make me happy. I'd settle for Wen (is that his name?)

Leake is pretty much gone. Evans stated yesterday they would love to sign him but are now taking their time. There are so many starting pitchers still out there they are waiting to see who doesn't get the big payday that the Giants might be able to scoop up at a discount. Same with Left Fielders. They like Heward and Gordon the most but don't want to shell out 100mil+ for either. I would rather they go out and try and land another starter and let Parker/Williamson duke it out for the LF spot. Loser becomes the 5th outfielder. So pretty much the word coming out of the winter meetings by the Giants is much different than the reporters who were saying yesterday the Giants are getting closer to a deal with Gordon and are seen by teams as the favorites to land him. Yesterday CarGo came up and Evans said Rockies don't seem to have an issue trading him in-division. That would be better than giving 32 year old Gordon 20mil a year on a 5 year deal.

I think I agree on the OF. Was it just last year they seemed to have a ridiculous amount of OFers and then got so decimated they had to get Byrd? So, you never know.

I am very excited for 2016. Hopefully the Giants don't try and sign someone for LF and let Parker and Williamson duke it out. These last couple world series have been pushed using home grown guys for the most part and those 2 both have a ton of upside.

If anyone is coming out to Spring Training let me know. I work 2 blocks from the Giants spring training sites. I know you want to Rob. Last year we did a fun double header day and will be doing something like it again this year. Last year it was ChiSox at the Cubbies new place and then we shot over to the D*dgers digs (it is a dump) and watched Heston and the Giants clobber them in the night game. Great day of baseball and tickets to both games will cost you less than 1 regular season ticket.

Cueto is a hell of a pick-up! Damn you Giants and your even numbered years!!

The NL just got better - the Giants will have much stiffer competition. The even year thing tanks starting next season.

Be expecting another signing/acquisition after the holidays. Evans hinted yesterday while everyone has us tapped out financially it is not true. It will not be Upton or Cespedes but could be more than likely via trade. Ozuna is up for trade from Miami as is CarGo from Col. We have some prospects to burn.

That Shark signing looks much better after the Leake signing. I would rather have Shark at 90mil than Leake at 80.

Giants are very much in play for one of the outfielders. Evans stated yesterday expect a signing or trade in 10 to 14 days. They need a few guys to sign with the more desperate teams to take some options off the table. I'm thinking it will probably either be a smaller signing (Fowler) or Gordon. Both Cespedes and Upton are looking for 6 or 7 year deals. AAV doesn't seem to be an issue. Years is the problem.

I will be very sad to see Timmy in another teams jersey next season. If he would outright accept a bullpen role we could have kept him maybe.

I think he'll stay. The Giants will give him some offer out of loyalty.....I'm not sure he'll get any others.

Giants sign Dernard Spahn to a 3 year deal worth a little over 30 million. He will play LF next season and take over in center for Pagan in 2017 or this year should Pagan get hurt again. I like it as we don't need a long deal for someone.
