Wrigley's not the worst place to see a concert... plus it's got the BEST pre concert setup, with the dozens of bars in Wrigleyville. Buffett, The Police, and Elton John/Billy Joel have all played there recently, and I think DMB is slated for this summer...

And, it's only a block from my crib. :D

Is that the original field? When did they put a formal venue structure there? It wasn't there in '98.
No .. that is sacred ground. The theater is to the south west of the original site. It is a GREAT venue, with the museum and all.

Ah, gotcha. I worked on a show there in either 98 or 99 at the original site, and it was just as much an open field as in 1969. Glad to see they kept it that way. :D

I would travel here to hear Pearl Jam perform...Santa Fe, New Mexico...

that looks very nice. what venue is this/where is it located. capacity?

This is the Sante Fe Opera House, located in New Mexico, seven miles north of Sante Fe. The audiences' seats face toward the west so you can see the sunset during the evening shows. The venue holds 2,128 seats, plus 106 standees. I'm so hoping that I will be living near this beautiful place in New Mexico & hopefully one day soon, be where I will spend the rest of my life. ;)

  • you guys think small!!!
    :D

2000 people to see a PJ concert?
    Come oooonnnnn!!

    I can't wait to be a part of a 120k party!!!!!
In the U.S. I can think of the Giants Stadium, the Cowboys place in Texas or the Dodgers Stadium, for instance...
Maybe also Miami could hold a large event like this...
Any other Arenas you can think of for a HUGE crowd someday?

I mean... the beauty in these marvellous places you guys suggest is good, but why can't we aim to rock the ground and hit the planet really hard every now and then?
    ;)

well the point of the thread was for "legitimate concert venues". i dont count cowboys stadium or giants stadium as legitimate concert venues...at least not for Pearl Jam. that may be thinking a little too large

from what i gather from that Wiki.........a Pearl Jam concert wouldnt work to well there. its all about spoken word performances and non-amplified acoustic performances.

so....they should play an acoustic set!but with no monitors, speakers or microphones!

Well my friend, you are a lucky person to be surrounded by such beauty, history & life. & Pearl Jam should play there because, when you try something new & explore all the possibilities life can offer to you, it can sometimes open up a whole new world. Mahalo...
