The Venue Thread
Post a picture(s) of a place that you want Pearl Jam to play...that they have never played before.
lets try and be realistic. no pictures of peoples back yards....im talking legitimate concert venues
il start.
Mann Center for the Performing Arts
West Farimount Park
Philadelphia, PA
capacity ~7500
I have only been there a few times but each time the sound/acoustics are fantastic. not a bad seat in the house and the surrounding areas are beautiful and great for a pre-show experience. i saw Brian Wilson and REM/Modest Mouse here...great times in a no hassel venue.

I've seen Muse, The Verve and Oasis there the past few years and it just such a special venue. 6000 capacity. The Eden Session are always June/July so maybe a late PJ show to be announced...

I'll give another vote to the Mann although i did see Eddie play with REM there a few years ago. Since I doubt we will see them play any smaller venues how about a baseball stadium tour?

A Bostonian can be hopeful, can't he? I know Fenway Faithful will back me up on this wish that Pearl Jam plays Fenway.
Edit: I added a pic from last years Phish show to show that Pearl Jam would have a hell of a crowd to play to if this happens.

EV Solo: 6/16/11 Boston, 6/18/11 Hartford,
Yeah, yeah...Fenway. I mean, I'd love to go and everything...but if we're talking baseball stadiums, let's talk Philly! For one thing...look at all the parking!!! Bigger lots mean bigger fun. Fenway has the history and everything, but this joint is nicer. Plus it's a little over an hour away from my house and Boston is like six hours... Only problem is the bootleg would probably take FOREVER to be released.
I'd accept that from somebody from any place in the world EXCEPT Boston.
One of the biggest iconic landmarks in not just Australia, but the world.
1st pic is of crowded house playing on the steps of the opera house.

I agree we have been spoiled lately, but remember we got exactly 0 shows between the Ten tour in 91 and the Yield tour in 98, so as Ed likes to say maybe they are making up for lost time.
I would suggest if they do play baseball parks to do like Dylan likes to do and play minor league parks. There is Campbell Field in Camden, Wilco played at the Blue Rocks stadium in Wilmington last year, or they could try Reading...I think these would work out better than Citizens Bank, which might be too big (not too big to fill, just too big to sound good.)
edit: Sorry I didn't post any pics, not sure how to do that...
NY residency
I would travel here to hear Pearl Jam perform...Santa Fe, New Mexico...
This place is definitely a piece of heaven...
that looks very nice. what venue is this/where is it located. capacity?

They should do a small show at our local historic Byrd Theatre (movie theater) built in the 20's in Richmond VA. It's an intimate venue with only 1,300 seats. It also has a built in, retractable organ which pops-up from the floor, and the pipes are on either side of the stage.

If Pearl Jam played Massey Hall, that place would fall down after the 1st encore. Even if it was an unplugged event! :P

SMELL YER MA!
I haven't found any good concert pics (only soccer games on the first google images pages), but it is where The Police played for 80k in 2007 and U2 played for 90k in 2006.
Both gigs have become DVDs (Certifiable and Vertigo) and you can also find the U2 gig in Imax 3D for a good look around the place.
It is not my hometown, hell, it isn't even my homecountry, but I'd go see PJ there anytime, thanks, drive thru!!!
If you're thinking it is too big a venue for a PJ gig, you definetly don't know south americans well enough!
Only a little over 2,000 capacity, BUT many big bands in Canada have started playing this smaller/intimate venue. I saw the Tragically Hip there in September and it was PHENOMENAL.
They did 3 shows over 3 days . . . I could see PJ doing something similar . . . .

Is that the original field? When did they put a formal venue structure there? It wasn't there in '98.
