    sure. :);)
  • Wouldn't be to proud of the company...Honestly, still love 'em, but liked it better when they wrote for the FANS, not to make them.

Not sure I get the whole "for FANS" vs. "to get Fans" argument. If your sentiment is that "Just Breathe" is somehow not consistent with PJ's body of work I would respectfuly disagree. It's not like they recorded some song that sounds like Lady Gaga to try to win over new people. I would say Just Breathe and Backspacer as a whole represent Pearl Jam doing what they've always done: make great music that is true to themselves at the time they made it. Just Breathe is a great song and consistent with many of the other great songs PJ has done. If new people discover them through this song, great, if not that's okay to, it's still a great song from an amazing album. I think it would be a tough sell to say Backspacer represents a "sellout" or even radio friendly album. If the idea is that somehow they used to make more "pure" music I would also disagree. They continue to make, from my perspective sincere, honest music whether it's Ten or Backspacer. I'm not looking for them to make Vs. over and over again. I like it when bands grow and evolve, I mean it's evolution baby.

    Hahahaha!!!

    Nailed.

So Pearl Jam decides to write music that is not only good, but catchy again. Music doesn't always have to be overly complicated.

They write music... Its not for one person or the other...Its for the sake of fucking making music.
