I think Amongt the Waves is the safe choice. Got Some i believe is out because it was packaged with Just Breathe.
I think Unthought Known is PJs chance to do something to do something on the radio. Radio isn't always about being safe, which I think Just Breathe and Amongst the Waves are. Don't get me wrong, I love both of those songs. But..... Unthought Known just seems more inspired to me and I think it may translate to a wider audience. again just my opinion
johnny guitaaaaar would suit me. shame supersonic was the b side for the fixer that wudda made one hell of a single. but whatever get's released it needs one of the unused 'spacer songs to give me extra incentive to buy it and possibly some coloured vinyl wouldn't go a miss.

It should be Amongst The Waves. Anything else would be silly.
"...Dimitri...He talks to me...'.."The Ghost of Greece..".
"..That's One Happy Fuckin Ghost.."
“..That came up on the Pillow Case...This is for the Greek, With Our Apologies.....”
Please, for the love of God, do not release J Guitar. Love PJ (disclaimer) but, this makes me cringe in parts. 'He B having lotsa women' ... I just can't get past it. Too many better songs to chose from on BS imo.
Force of Nature is obviously the catchiest, most recognizable chord progression, instant radio type of song on the album... almost generically so. I thought it was lame the first time I heard it and by about play #3 I was hooked, which is the whole point of that song. It is catchy as all hell. Maybe the most pop-nugget of a song Pearl Jam has ever written. If they really, really wanted to sell albums, that would be a single. If it's anything else, they're retreating back into their partial mindset of "we wanna be big, but not too big."

I love "Unthought Known", but with radio being something for those with very short attention spans I'm not sure it would work. The buildup of the song takes 48 seconds (before the piano and drums kick in)... then it hits another level at 1:20. Is there even a chorus in the song?
While I don't like "Amongst the Waves" as much as "Unthought Known", at least it starts out with more tempo and hits the chorus about 36 seconds in. And it has a repeating chorus, something that may stick in the heads of radio simpletons.
All this may be pointless... not sure they'll put out another single.
I would much rather have gonna see my friend or supersonic but neither one is populer enough, Amongst the waves or unthought known, really any song would be awesome its pretty much a flawless album.
I'm gonna have to go with the consensus and go with Amongst The Waves (my fav song off the album) or maybe Unthought Known

Should be: Got Some (but like someone has already said, they chose to play Just Breathe...which truly is a great song but it gets old fast. Got Some just has that pumped up feeling that I think would be a great song to give to the masses ) Want it to be: Unthought Known (probably in my top 10 PJ songs of all time...LOVE IT!) Will probably be: Amongst the Waves (really like the song but it just doesn't measure up to UK, but I think it's a radio-playable song) Definitely won't be: Johnny Guitar (like the song, somewhat...meaning I like to sing it more on Rock Band than I actually like the song, but I also cringe at the "he be havin' lots of women" line...not PJ, IMO) Honorable Mention: Force of Nature (could be this one, sounds like it would be radio friendly but I still like UK better )

Unthought Known is a fan favorite, a deep cut...not a hit single.
Agreed. Though I wish that weren't all true. This as the next single would be awesome!

I "Unthought Known", Is there even a chorus in the song?
No, there is not. It's really not catchy.
Amongst the Waves is just a good, basic Pearl Jam rock song, but it won't make a lot of people go "I MUST go buy that album next time I'm at Target." It's the In Hiding of Backspacer. In Hiding... awesome song that most if not all hard core Pearl Jam fans love, but would your average rock fan be forced to buy a CD if they heard it? Probably not.
