That (along with a few others) was literally on the cusp of top ten inclusion. Great addittion.
  • Great list. That RATM cut led me to their Sleep Now In the Fire video in front of the New York Stock Exchange. Brilliant.
  • Thank you for this post. The clip for My Morning Jacket is amazing.

I can't find it anywhere, but Warren Zevons perfomance of "Keep Me In Your Heart For Awhile" months before his death would be my #1 or #2. So beautiful and amazing! If anyone can find it please post!

  • My first ever Pearl Jam experience (that actually stuck; that was done on my own) was seeing them play Hail, Hail in '96. I've discovered SO MANY incredible bands because of that show. I suppose I should thank the talent booker(s) in part, but I know that Dave's responsible for a lot of the music that has wound up on his show over the years. Even if his show has grown soft in recent years, I still think Dave's the man.

  • I really enjoyed watching Letterman hold up the large vinyl records, instead of an empty cd case, to introduce the band - a nice bit of nostalgia courtesy of Pearl Jam.
Everyone is born, but not everyone is born the same. Some will grow to be butchers, or bakers, or candlestick makers. Some will only be really good at making Jell-O salad. One way or another, though, every human being is unique, for better or for worse.

Thanks--one of my favorite MMJ performances.

Does anyone know if they have performed with the Boston Pops elsewhere? MP3? Video?

  • The (non-PJ) performance that stands out the most in my mind is Blind Melon playing "Change" on the same day that Kurt Cobain's body had been discovered. Shannon had put a "?" on his forehead.

I think they did two gigs with them... 2005, maybe? There are boots around, some vids on Youtube I think...

Ah man, you mean I don't get your validating stamp of approval?

Look, I have tried to like Springsteen's music on multiple occasions. I just can't get into it. Bums me out because he is such a great human--I just don't care for his music. I'm glad you do. Enjoy.

I'm sure if I attended a live show I would continue to appreciate his talent--but can't say that would change my opinion of his music. I feel the same way about the Rollin Stones--a few great songs, but mostly just bland generic jams.

    I agree, Otis.

I would like to see a forklift lift a crate of forks. It'd be so damn literal! You are using that machine to its exact purpose. That machine has been misunderstood for years.
