    agreed.
    2009: Philly 3 & 4
    2010: Newark, MSG I
    2011: EV Philly
    2012: Philly MIA
    2013: Wrigley, Pittsburgh, Buffalo, Philly 1 & 2, Baltimore
  • Not so hot about the headlines but a lot of good acts besides them and even more that are not on the list above. I'll be there :D

Tenacious D • The Flaming Lips with Stardeath and White Dwarfs perform "Dark Side of the Moon" • The Dead Weather • Phoenix • Les Claypool • Jeff Beck • GWAR evil.gif • The Melvins • Blues Traveler .. are worth checking I guess! :|

The Dead Weather and Jeff Beck! I'd go just for those two!
    Shows: 6.27.08 Hartford, CT/5.15.10 Hartford, CT/6.18.2011 Hartford, CT (EV Solo)/10.19.13 Brooklyn/10.25.13 Hartford

  • Already got my early bird lollapalooza tickets and my condo reserved.

Just need the Pearl Jam/Soundgarden/Alice in Chains announcement and things will be GOLDEN!!!!
and love, what a different life had I not had this love with you.
  • What a crap-fest this is gonna be...Flaming Lips and Jeff Beck are really the only highlights. Nice to see the Murphys spreading their seed across the southland. She & Him, Dead Weather and Calexico are not bad as well.

Point is, who would want to shell out a bunch of money to spend a weekend in the summer in Tennessee, in the mud and mosquitoes to hear "Two Step". Then get in your car and drive for 18 hours to get home...not me.

If I lived in Manchester, Tennessee I probably wouldn't even go this year. You can tell it's gone down the drain when My Morning Jacket is declining. They helped make it big.

  • i'm actually seeing a bunch of bands i would love to see in that lineup. To each their own I guess.

    Yeah, pretty average. Very disappointing.

So many great bands left off. Wilco, MGMT, My Morning Jacket, Ben Harper, Rose Hill Drive and Muse to name a few.

    I would.

Headliners aren't what the last couple years have been, but as someone else said, the supporting cast is very strong. I'd make a point to see about half the artists on that list, which is a pretty good feat for Bonnaroo's initial lineup announcement. Add to that the bands I've only heard things about but have an interest in, and the inevitable few I'll get sucked into because I like what I hear, that's a pretty solid weekend.

Everybody go see The Entrance Band on the Thursday night. You will not be disappointed.

I like the lineup except find the headliners pretty weak.
  • I would love to know how much they are charging for the all access tickets.

Camping, Kings of Leon and Dave Matthews sounds good.
For anyone that's been there before. Can you get up close with general admission or is it only for VIP?

  • bore a roo!!!
  • Although I have only been to Roo once, I would go blindly every year if I could afford it. Despite the fact that PJ was the ultimate factor in my attendance in 08, Roo was life-changing for me....literally. It opened my eyes to so much more music and I havent looked back since. That is the beauty of Bonnaroo - the unknowns and new music that you are introduced to. Although it is DAMN hot, I dont know that I've ever had more fun. I agree the headliners wouldnt tempt me alone this year but I guarantee there is a LOT of talent on that lineup whether you or I know it or not. I think that $275 would be well worth it for 4 days of camping, and getting to hear: KOL, Flaming Lips, Dead Weather, Damian Marley, Phoenix, Franti & Spearhead, Avett Bros, Rise Against, Black Keys, Dropkick Murhpys, Gaslight Anthem, Calexico, Manchester Orchestra, etc etc. Just my two cents...

    Jeff Beck is God
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of
arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to
slide in sideways, BBQ sandwich in one hand, cold beer in the other,
body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming "Woo Hoo what a
    ride"!

It may not be top heavy, but there are plenty of great bands to see. The Black Keys are one of the best bands playing today, IMO.

screw the FF, add TCV and thats a boner in spandex. TCV is much more likely than the Foos anyways

    2009: Albany 1-2(EV), Philly 3
    2010: Boston, MSG I

  • Kings of Leon • Stevie Wonder • Tenacious D • Damian Marley & Nas • Phoenix • Michael Franti & Spearhead • Les Claypool •The Black Keys • Jeff Beck • Dropkick Murphys • Clutch • Medeski Martin & Wood • GWAR • The Melvins • Gaslight Anthem • Blues Traveler • Martin Sexton • Mayer Hawthorne and the County • Manchester Orchestra • Lucero

This lineup looks good to me... hell, I don't even hate Dave Matthews like so many others around here. ;) But I'm not going to Bonnaroo so it doesn't matter anyway.

No, you don't need VIP tickets to get up close to any stage. VIP basically offers you a better camping area that is close to and has quicker access to the main festival grounds. Frankly, having seen the conditions of the general camping area, I wouldn't go again unless I had VIP tix.

But VIP tix are a lot more expensive than when I went 2 years ago! I don't know if I'll ever go again. There are festivals that are closer to where I live, and I'm planning on going to a few of those. They're not huge fests, but that's actually part of the appeal too. Bonnaroo 2008 had an amazing lineup and I'm glad I went that year, but that might be it for me.
