MAAAAAN....and I was pointed out as thin skinned
(agreed)
this thread is a roller coaster of racism and all it took was a fried chicken dinner menu..
I've always said that there is a little racism in EVERYBODY no matter what color they are even if they don't want to admit it
and in my heart of hearts I find it sad and a bump in the road to everybody, I think it's time to move on.

Dude, am I not sure if I am getting your whole meaning, but you seem to suggest that the comments in this thread are racist ... Really? I wasn't lying, I really like the restaurants in Chinatown here and 9 times out of ten, I am the only white guy in these places. And I've gone to three Popeye's chicken places in the U.S., and yep ... White dude, by himself, eating chicken.0 -

fried chicken and watermelon are two of my favorite foods (and i'm white). i was born in VA and grew up in WV. maybe i was just far enough south to get it? i dunno. i definitely think it's a cultural thing more than anything inherent to someone's race. i actually worked at a popeye's for 4 years when iw as in high school and my freshman year of college. i ate that shit every day! literally! i'm surprised i'm still alive...0

Probably not the best choice of words IMO,but do you think he meant any harm by it ?
Or was he just being a dumb ass ?0 -

I remember it, not the best choice of words because he meant what he said. If you notice after he said collard greens he said something like *or whatever the hell they eat*. All said in what appears to be in anger and frustration because the kid Tiger Woods was kicking ass of the good ole boys of the south at Augusta, Ga I gather.
He apologized like they all do and TW accepted it with ease maybe due to he probably doesn't eat collard greens. Like one of TW's bimbos said *He (Tiger Woods) is one of the whitest of white boys*.

Yes it's known to be quite the truth and he's nerdy too.

Fuzzy's a moron. Anyway a big reason why this is tied up in race (and in a derogatory fashion) is that these are all cheap (read: working class) foods that are looked down upon because of class. Since there's an overrepresentation of minorities in the working class this gets tied up in racism. Is it definitely racism...clearly not. Is KFC, owned by white people, the same as having an Irish restaurant owned by an Irish person, defining what Irish food is? Clearly not. As such, this isn't definitely racist, but it's definitely not innocent of some sort of -ism, be it class or race.0
