Pearl Jam 6 week 2010 US tour....

I heard from one of PJ's security guys over the weekend that they will be doing a 6 week random city tour this year and that is it. I asked about MSG and he said, from what he knows, NOPE! I asked about the South, and he said nothing in particular. That it is going to be random cities. Figured I'd just pass along this info. I wasn't sure, cause it was a quick conversation, but he made it seem like the 6 weeks were for the US dates. With NOLA announced and Lisbon being the last date as of now, that would be a little more than 2 months. I imagine they are going to fill in dates after NOLA until they leave for Europe. That would make sense for 6 weeks. We shall see!

    6 weeks but not MSG for a new album? Interesting. Let's hope that means 3 shows in Boston with more experiment shows! :D I'll travel to Maine or NH if they come back!

    Based on CMJ...um..whatever the other letters are..'s posts on the matter, I think it's a safe bet that maybe this security guard isn't aware of every single plan the band has.

    ...anywho, it's possible their tour staff isn't aware yet of the tour plans, or he may have more up to date info than I have, so it's hard to say. Usually tour staff get an itinerary of venues, dates, production phone numbers, etc, but if the band is still deciding and still booking, the itinerary wouldn't be printed yet.

    Was the guard Pete? (large black man) Pete has been with them for many years (at least since before '98) and he would probably be slightly more in-the-loop than the other security staff on their tour.

    I'm avoiding asking my contact at MSG too often for updates, since I don't want to exhaust my relationship with them everytime there's a rumor on here...

    Ha. I never cared much for Mike (from mst3k, not mccready) and that's around when I stopped watching. Santa claus conquers (or versus?) the martians was one of my fave episodes and became an Xmas tradition. That and a Christmas story.

    Best has to be "Mitchell" or "Manos:Hands of Fate" (which actually has a pj reference at the very start of it! "Lets sing something from Pearl Jam!) I probably have every one of these movies.. man are they great , especially if your a stoner who understands pop culture references :D

    MSG is happening. 90% chance. My source says they are in conflict with another arena at a different date, I don't know if that means another NY arena or a different city arena.

    Edit: By 90% I mean that I would think PJ would rather play at MSG than any other venue regardless of what it is.

    that other arena could be the Prudential Center and most likely conflict is due to the devils playoff run. Just a guess is all.

    Did your source mention anything bout a soundgarden/pearl jam double bill.

    I love the cynical people... as if I am going to post something on here that I just made up lol

    It came from the horses mouth, Mr Cynic. Two of PJ's security(Pete was one of them, but not the one I spoke to)) were doing Kings of Leon's security in LA for the Grammy's... I was at a party... I asked and he told me what he knew.... end of story...
