Who else here loves wearing boat shoes in the summer? Classy as hell and great with everything! Not a wintertime thing, but my mind is thinking about summer today...

I got three pairs in rotation right now. Boat shoes season is right around the corner!

Is a flip-flop a boatshoe? What is a boatshoe? We don't have boats where I am from and we just started importing shoes recently.

maybe once upon a time ... when i thought don johnson was cool and wearing polo shirts with my collar up was the thing to do ... but then i recovered from my head injury and now see the light ...

I used to rock eastlands when I was a kid. Sandals in the summer 5 days a week (with the bottle opener under the shoe)

Here in Idaho, the vast maority of the population is still just putting a huge slit in the back of a rabbit and stepping inside the corpse for shoes. Tourists think they are amusing slippers until they get closer...

the gf and i were at a local restraunt one night a couple of years back. while waiting on our table this middle aged guy walks in with his family. he is wearing all white boat shoes and white pants. i was like ahoy there matey. arrrrrrr.

Don't get me wrong, sandals are awesome as well. Some places are not so sandal-friendly. Boat shoes are universal. PS I have no dignity.

I don't know about universal. I've been in some Wyoming bars where I'm pretty sure you wouldn't walk out wearing those shoes the same way you were wearing them when you walked in.

i've found the hard way that flip flops, etc, are NOT practical on a boat if you're actually pulling in lines, fenders, i.e. working on the boat while it's moving. kicking a cleat or stubbing your toe on one is no fun at all. hurts like a mother. so yes i'll throw myself under the bus here and add my name to this fanbase.

however,

it's very practical wearing my bottle opener reef flip flops when drinking in the summer.

Exactly. I bought a pair of Reef's in Hawaii in 2006 and wear them daily in the summer. Not to keen on the boat shoes in the summer probably because my dad has been rocking the same pair since 1981.
