I diasagree. The boys in Pearl Jam are too nice, fans of Soundgarden, and probably respect the fact that Matt was in SG first. When Matt came to the band and said SG was planning on reuniting, they probably said that's awesome, and let us know what your plans are and we will work around them. And also, judging by how Pearl Jam has toured in '07, '08 and '09, I think they have made it pretty clear they just aren't interested in heading out for any sort of extensive touring, and they might almost be using SG as an excuse to not have to do much touring in 2010 either, which is pretty sad considering this is their 20th anniversary. I sure hope there is some sort of tour in October with a date on the 22nd, otherwise they let a big one slip away.

I see your point but I dont think PJ needs any excuse to not do an "extensive" tour. They havent done an "extensive tour since 06'. Hopefully we will find out that you are wrong TOMORROW! 8-) IMO they are done with loner tours. Mini Tours are the standard from now on...

I heard on TMZ Cameron will be the drummer on the upcoming Creed tour too.

really cause i heard he was gonna be on Broadway...ya know that "musical" where they beat on buckets and trash cans like drums.

    BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

That was for Erik's comment. It was fucking funny!

Now, about the more serious issue of Pearl Jam not doing any extensive touring anymore. The day they realize their shows are taking more than 5 freakin' seconds to sell out is the day they will realize they need to start thinking about "extensive" touring. So, it's gonna be a while. Sit tight!

Of course, I am not saying that PJ would stifle Matt's desire to play in PJ.
I am saying that Matt would not leave PJ hanging if they had prior plans.
The days of extensive touring are over, but I would be very surprised if they did not announce additional US dates-not withstanding the SG talk.

Personally, I dont really care about the 20th, so long as they play a non-festival show or two in 2010 that I can get to!

Knowing Jim Koplik he would do anything to get Pearl Jam in Hartford. I know he loves them, and Pearl Jam always brings a great crowd out to the Meadows. I'm gonna be pretty dissapointed if they don't play, but Jim Koplik doesn't mess around with rumors or anything...what you heard him say is what's gonna happen. Been listening to him on the radio for years.

the weird thing is that I thought Ed said that Matt and his family were the reason PJ might not tour a lot this year, and now he has 2 full-time gigs. I would love to see both bands, and I will wherever they play, but I hope the PJ tour isnt scrapped just for some Soundgarden festival appearances. if PJ limits their touring for SG, I hope SG plays a full tour in medium-sized venues.

+1 koplik always knows his shit. this sucks about no pj in ct. but if ny happens that will be soo sweet! i really hope pj get shit together and don't scrap this supposed tour. totally psyched to hear some soundgarden news soon though too.

If PJ scraps this tour I'd be really pissed. I'm not gonna be surprised if PJ/Soundgarden tour together, as in like, they play the same areas at the same time. Hartford a "one-night" venue, they gave that one to Soundgarden. Pearl Jam will probably split MSG/TD Bank with SG, and to make up for Hartford, they'll give PJ like another night in Jersey of SPAC or something. This kinda sucks lol.

I know, I'm upset too about no Hartford date. After 2008's, you'd expect a return after a show like that. I was hoping for a half hour drive to see them instead of a 2 hour drive. I might as well wait until next year.

Exactly-think someone alluded to earlier to the fact they didn't know who he was. He's been in the business for years. Jim Koplik and Shelly Finkell-those were the days. Pepe's and The New Haven Coliseum!!!

about 3/4 way through Jan 22 edition

    Damn you Sound Garden

I don't really want to have to listen to the whole thing, and the podcast isn't working for me.

Can someone just summarize what was said in the podcast?

Also, this makes a lot of sense. I had it from someone very reliable that tour plans would be announced before the end of last week. When they weren't, I was in shock. So this explains a lot.
