I mean has'nt Wilco opened for Pearl Jam before & Has there ever been a band that opened for Pearl Jam on more than one tour? I just could'nt help but notice how short Wilco's last tour was. Anybody go? & ...is this a possible go?

  • The Gaslight Anthem. They have a new album coming out in June as well they can be promo'ing for before they do their own headlining shows.
  • i thought it was going to be SG and matt was going to be pulling double shifts...and not so much the opener as a double headliner

wilco is to big of a band now to be opening up for pj. mmj is also to big now. pearl jam usually takes bands that are gonna break big in the music biz or bands they like. i wanna see some more true punk bands open for them. social d and bad religion were both good openers.
Ron: I just don't feel like going out tonight
    Sammi: Wanna just break up?

  • King of Leon and sleater kinney have opened on different tours.

How about bands like Band of Horses or Fleet Foxes.

Wouldn't say MMJ are too big here in Europe to be an opening act for PJ. In America definitely, but not so big here.

I did see WILCO open for Neil Young at the Spectrum a year and a half ago. Great great show. There were as many Wilco fans there as Neil fans. I love live Wilco, 2nd best live band out there today, but not sure if it would be a good fit with opening for PJ. Different crows.

Opening acts I'd love to see:

    John Doe
    AIC
    Black Angels
    Black Keys
    Dinosaur Jr
    PAVEMENT
Gomez (for us in the states)
    NY
    Stephen Malkmus + the Jicks
    The Whigs
    X
    and WILCO

Of course there are others I can't think of right now.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of
arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to
slide in sideways, BBQ sandwich in one hand, cold beer in the other,
body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming "Woo Hoo what a
    ride"!

the Black keys open for pj in Europe before, I think. I'd like to see them too. That would be a big jump up for The Whigs. I saw them open for the band that opened for Kings of Leon. They were good.

Further back and forth a wave will break on me, today...
  • i would love to see The Whigs open for them in 2010. they have a new record in March also. Got into them after seeing them open for KOL several times. Love their energy onstage and like their records. Was overly excited last time i saw KOL in Indianapolis when the Whigs filled in for Glasvegas due to illness. made my night that much better

You mean their album tanks in March, and those who actually here it can't stop the bleeding out of their ears!

I've seen about ten or so openers, enjoyed all of them in some capacity.... Ted Leo should never be in the same zip code as the band takes a stage anywhere

    MGMT would be cool
  • my morning jacket
    the black keys
    band of horses
i would be happy with that :)
