Sweet! Mine arrived today - unsigned though. Oh well. One of these days!

I plan on listening to the CD tonight, but my cousin is coming into town this weekend and asked me to save it for him to watch as well - he's a big JJ Grey fan, too. No big deal - probably will end up watching it Friday night before we head to the Meat Puppets show.

Can't wait to check this out!!!

:o Meat Puppets?!? Have fun Roger!!

Well, hopefully we will get in. It's at a really small club on FSU's campus and they only sell tickets at the door an hour before showtime.

Roger, if you're able to get in for the Meat Puppets show, make sure to catch the opening act The Weeks. Really cool band out of Jackson MS.

will do - we plan on getting there before the doors open - just to make sure we get a ticket. No really sure how popular the Meat Puppets are with current college students (they get in for free). Who would you compare The Weeks to? Just curious

some of their stuff is reminiscent of early KOL. The lead singers voice is scarily similar to Caleb Followill's at times. Here's a few vids:

just got this in the mail today and started watching during lunch....got the cd cranked up back at the office now.
Such a fantastic band....the documentary/concert film is very cool as well from the bit I got to see at lunch.

They're going to be at my favorite bar in a few weeks but I don't think I'll be able to make it and that makes me ill
All I have to do is revel in the everyday....then do it again tomorrow

They say every sin is deadly but I believe they may be wrong...I'm guilty of all seven and I don't feel too bad at all

On one hand I spread the word of JJ to everyone I meet. But in a way I want to keep it my own little secret. Once JJ & the boys came through Birmingham 3-4 times a year, now it's once a year because of their new popularity.

Very bittersweet. So road trips when I can swing it.

Definitely worth it, a great band.

I know what you mean, but it's so cool when you introduce them to someone and they're like, "Wow! How are these guys not more popular?"

I always tell them to check out a live show - they always sellout, at least in the south they do. Not sure about up north how they do

Watched the film last night, and I loved it! The performance is spot on, just as I knew it would be, and the parts in between songs that were full of commentary were excellent. The minute I saw the opening credits I knew it was really going to be a concert film. Been rocking the CD constantly since I picked it up.

I have to agree with the wanting to tell people about JJ & Mofro. The only person that jumped into it just like I did after plugging them is my dad. :lol:8-)

I watched the video on Friday and it was awesome! I echo what everyone else has already said about it - the live show was incredible, but I really enjoyed all of the extra interviews between the live song. What a great DVD

JJ Grey is such feel-good music. Everytime I listen to him I just daydream about being back in the South, drinking a beer on a front porch in the summertime.

Me too. That was great. I said that out-loud before he did on my first listen, although it was pretty easy to assume he was going to say that. :P

I wish the one time I saw him and the band would've been something more like that show on the DVD. Their own bill, in a nice, intimate theater like that. JJ Grey & Mofro just have so much character on stage, wish I could've had that more emphasized at the show I was at. Nevertheless, their performance was still excellent.
