I just finished up the first season to an AMC show called Hell on Wheels and Common is in it. He's actually a pretty decent actor

I have tickets to the MMJ show, the M.Ward/Devotchka show and am planning on getting a ticket at the gate to Band of Horses. But now that I think about it, I should probably take the safe road and buy one in advance.

Workplay in Birmingham last night. My 15th show and I still can't believe that:

A. It's only 20 bucks, I feel like I'm stealing.
B. That it's possible these shows keep getting better.

They debuted a new song called "Somebody Else" along with a nice new guitar.
The song has a memphis soul feel to it.

The merch guy said a couple months but the band didn't mention it. Although they did play that one new track, which is phenomenal.

You mentioned writing songs, have you already started working on songs for your next studio album?

It’s just about done. We’re going to go into the studio next month to start recording, the beginning of September, end of August.

Had lunch with a friend yesterday who recently got back from a road trip with her brothers from New York to Washington state. She told me that somewhere along the way, some random ass state (forget which one it was, I just remember it was pretty random), they stopped in a bar and ended up drinking the night away with a band. I asked her what band and she told me it was JJ Grey & Mofro. Pretty damn cool!

THats kickass. JJ has to be one of the coolest, down to earth cats around.

What sucks is that they used to play a club in Tallahassee almost annually and that club closed down last year. I'm not sure where else they would play in Tallahassee. Might not be seeing Mofro any time soon :(
