around the 2:08 mark they start punching an old woman, then about a minute later they start shoving and hitting more, eventually breaking out the batons....what a disgrace

Why are old women engaging in hand-to-hand combat with members of the IDF? Must be tough old birds. ;)

a better question to ask might be why are the Israeli's there illegally and illegally expanding the settlement in Nebi Salah?

Life's just not the same since the lobotomy, eh?

Lighten the hell up. Of course its not, but my point stands. My grandma knits shit and drinks tea. These grandmas hit the streets to get in soldier's faces. You don't see something wrong with that? Or, let me guess ... The IDF troops routinely enter people's homes to slap around grannies for kicks? I am not excusing these soldier's behavior, but in how many cultures do kids and old people hit the streets to throw rocks at tanks? Call me old-fashioned, but warfare and rioting are pursuits of strapping young lads. These endless video clips of kids and old people brawling with armed soldiers makes me wonder why the kids aren't in school and why the old folks aren't playing shuffleboard (or some equivalent).

Then why didn't you ask that instead of posting UFC 120: IDF vs. Granny?

i have never had a lobotomy, but i appreciate your concern....i do not think that i am the one in need of such a questionable medical procedure...there is a reason that this procedure fell out of favor about 50 years ago...

no i am not going to "lighten up"! i am deadly serious about my opinion on this matter. i find it absolutely disgusting how you can minimize and use sarcasm while these coward soldiers are beating elderly people...elderly women to be more specific...this is the same thing that happend in the south during the civil rights era except the people are of different skin color, and there are no firehoses or german shepherds...you can go ahead and say you are not excusing the soldiers behavior, and i am willing to believe you, but don't say that while every point in your post is doing exactly just that, making excuses for their actions. these people's land is occupied illegally and what do you expect them to do, just willingly accept it?? would you sit there while there are foreign soldiers all over your homeland or would you curse them as you walked by? if people willingly accepted their situation we would still be a british colony....

and to answer your question about the kids and the throwing rocks at tanks in the streets, how many countries have this reality on a daily basis?? probably less than 20? it just happens to be the most publicized in this particular illegal occupation...

I'm giving rebornfixer a big +1. He brings up a great question. If you care about the Palestinians really, then your concern should not just be about ending the occupation, but also for what comes after the occupation. You are doing the Palestinians no favors by accepting the self-immolation of their society. They should totally resist the occupation (non-violently), but they should also be building functioning institutions, and educating their kids, not sending them out into the streets to throw rocks at pissed-off, terrified 18 year-olds with machine guns. That just seems like poor parenting.

Rebornfixer, seriously, you insult a lot of people with your dumb ass remarks. But hey we live in America and we have freedoms to express ourselves with whatever our voices can scream. So you have the right to express yourself in any manor you choose. In the same respect I can say fuck off reborn. Go ahead and censor me.

let me get some machine guns and tanks and occupy your land. would you be a good little teenager and go to school or would you devise a way to get these invaders the hell out of your country? civil disobedience is a good thing...

So what u guys are saying is that it's ok for 18 year old itf soldiers to kick the shit out of old grandmas and kids cause they were being cursed at?? I'm just trying to clerify it. Cuz i was raised to respect my elders.

I am not making excuses for their actions, but feel free to perceive it that way. With all due respect, you can't read my mind (even without said lobotomy) and my initial urge was to preface my comments with a long passage about how beating on old people is wrong. Perhaps I should have done so. I suppose I felt that this goes without saying. What is perhaps less obvious are the issues yosi raised in the post above mine. He said it much more elegantly. To answer your question(s), no, I wouldn't sit idly by, if indeed there was a full-on invasion of my home. If the situation was less cut and dried, I think I'd want my kids in school, and I think I'd still be doing what I do ... Piss people off on a message board full of anti-Israel folks, and work in my current profession focused on healing folks, not killing or maiming or beating them.

you and reeborn talk of educating the children and why they aren't in schools.

maybe they learnt to throw rocks back when they were just little children trying to go to school every day, while they were heckled, had rocks thrown at them, cruelly treated, and the israeli soldiers stood back and watched it all happen.

i'm not so sure i'd want to go to school under those conditions either.

    so fucking cruel.

Yes, I get your point. In fact, I'll concede this one to you guys. Truly, though ... If Israel ever gets its act together and withdraws, these guys will have to learn, as a culture, to rebuild and live as free people. Its going to be a painful process. I hope they get the help they need from the rich nations of the world.
