Ed's radio show AFTER Atlanta'94 concert

Much has been talked about this amazing concert as one of their best ever, but I never hear anything about the radio broadcast Ed did afterward. Certain radio stations kept with it after the concert ended, I think the one I was listening to was Z100 in NYC (back when they were cool) and Ed went to a broadcast booth and talked about some stuff and played some songs. I know one of them was Cigarettes by Kings X, there were some others I can't remember. Anyone have any memory of this? I had it on tape when I recorded the concert originally, but its long gone :( It'd be great if someone had it available to download somewhere...
My favorite Pearl Jam song: "Corporate Greed Boat Asshole Behind a Counter in the Oval Office"

I remember it fondly, especially the debut of the Dock of the Bay cover. Somebody should be able to help you out -- I've seen it on fan sites over the years.

I recall a little bit of the after broadcast. I had a cassette I taped from Z100. This was during the 1 or 2 year period when Z100 went off of the crappy Madonna/Neo-Disco music and into the rock scene, only to return very quickly.

All I can do is confirm I heard it and probably have a torn cassette somewhere. :D

    From twofeetthick...

[Ed's DJ set: Cigarettes (King's X), I Only Play for Money (The Frogs), A Little Story (Daniel Johnson), Joy Without Pleasure (Daniel Johnson), Androgynous Mind (Sonic Youth), In the Blood (Mudhoney), Disconnect (Rollins Band), Baby Drop (Shudder to Think), Let Down Left Out Laughed At (Eleven), Dock of the Bay (PJ w/ Steve Cropper 3/26/94)]

    http://www.twofeetthick.com/concert-chronology/pj1994/

Yes, Z100 aired it, but I don't recall if it was complete as I was tired of flipping cassettes and stopped recording when we hit the 3 hour mark and finished the second cassette.

One of my friends is very inventive, and used to tape long audio broadcasts with VHS on the extended-long (slow) speed. I wonder if he's got it somewhere.

This was AND still is the BEST radio concert broadcast I have ever heard. I still have (2) 90 min. cassette tapes with the entire show & Ed's after show broadcast. I believe Ed's after show broadcast paved the way for the Self-Pollution(1995) & Monkeywrench(1998) radio broadcasts. I recorded the show from WNEW 102.7 FM(NYC) I remember cassette #2 side A cutting off in the middle of Sonic Reducer(GASP!!!) and me frantically hurrying to get side B ready. I also have this show on CD bootleg which I purchased from Revolver Records on West 8th Street(NYC) for $40 friggin dollars!!! Q104.3 FM played alot of tunes from this show, especially "Betterman" which became a HUGE hit 8 months before it was released on Vitalogy. Pearl Jam will always in my mind(and many others) be the best rock & roll band to break out in the late 20th century and I can hardly wait for Jeff, Stone, Mike, Matt & Eddie to be inducted to the Rock & Roll hall Of Fame in 2016.
Everything has chains, absolutely nothing's changed...

(&) = Mike throws in a guitar snippet of the Rolling Stones' "Angie" right after the song.
(*) = Additional vocals by Doug Pinnick and octabons by Jerry Gaskill, both members of King's X.
(!) = First time played in full. The only version played before was a Not for You/Satan's Bed jam @ Louisville, KY on 3/24/94.

    Recording Notes:
This is the best known source of this show, and has been lovingly put together after spending countless hours comparing a multitude of sources for the show. The DJ aftershow is not by any means a super recording, but it has been pieced together from two analog tapes to make it complete, and it has been included because it is interesting and has some great music. During some of Ed's talking you can hear another song playing in the background. This is most likely from "crosstalk" from a nearby radio station on the dial (it seems to only occur during Ed's talking for some reason).

    Artwork Notes:
The artwork has been ideally designed by a three-cd "quad case", one of the fat cd cases. This has also been designed to also be really easy to drop the third disc and not use the "top tray", in order to put the show in a standard two-disc jewel case, if so desired. The booklet is made by printing both pages, front and back, and then stapling them together down the middle.

Show Notes (thanks to Five Horizons):
Jeff joins Kings' X, playing bass on the Hendrix cover, 'Manic Depression.' King's X vocalist Doug Pinnick and drummer Jerry Gaskill help out during 'WMA'. Some lyrics from 'Not for You' are thrown in at the end of 'Blood.' Prior to a super 'Sonic Reducer,' Ed starts playing drums and Dave announces, "Ladies and gentlemen, Dave Abbruzzese!" Jeff chimes in, "Otherwise known as 'Four Feet'." Dave then mocks the crowd's earlier chants of "Eddie, Eddie!" by mumbling "Ed" several times into the mic, before returning to the drum set. A bit of 'Satan's Bed' ("torture follows reward") is mixed into 'Rats.' Before 'Porch,' Ed says, "I think you won, but I enjoyed the fight," referring to a large banner handed to him, which reads, "Eddie vs. Atlanta." Meanwhile, the band is jamming to the Kiss song, 'Detroit Rock City.' During the long jam during the middle of this incredible version of 'Porch,' Ed throws his mic stand at a huge replica of the "boy on the cross" figurine (depicted in the Vs. book) hanging in the background. Ed dons a Cincinnati Bengals helmet and the gold bat wings and climbs the lighting rig above the stage. Staying there through most of the jam, he throws down a dummy wearing a similar outfit. The crowd screams, thinking that Ed has fallen, but he reappears, and starts singing again. Jeff kicks the dummy into the crowd where it is ripped to pieces. Ed returns to the stage using only his hands on the rope ladder with his feet dangling. A snippet of Sonic Youth's 'Androgynous Mind' is intermingled in 'Porch' (and the original played during Ed's DJ show later). The lights are turned up after 'Porch' and at least half of the crowd leaves, missing 'Indifference.' This show was broadcast on radio, as well as Ed's 45-minute DJ session from a van after the show. (The original Monkeywrench Radio?).

This is being distributed by blackredyellow.com, and is part of a series of the best Pearl Jam shows in existance. If the artwork is not included, you can find it at blackredyellow.com.

I don't know how "allowed" the footage is. All I know is that when someone posts a link to a certain PJ movie, that movie is removed by youtube. If this is one of those touchy things... it may possibly get removed as well. So, I'd keep it on the down-low, unless we know this footage has been officially released somehow.

Sorry - I did look for it and I do have it, but unfortunately my DVD drive is not reading some discs. It's located on that Audio Archive set that was traded some time ago (disc 18 to be exact). If you promise to send it back, I'll mail you mine to copy if you like. PM me. Might have trouble finding a site hosting this as a torrent due to the material you're specifically looking for.

It's good stuff! I have it up on my blog for download. http://inthepresenttense.blogspot.com/ Go to the vault on the right and then the 1994 section. 8-)

wow apparently i had a lot less of the show than i thought, i guess that's why i couldn't remember what else he did after the king's x song! z100 cut off the show right after he introduces the next frog's song, so its really cool to hear the whole thing now

I was there and remember this and it was crazy intense! In fact, I think I submitted that nugget to 5H for the CC. Thanks for the jog down memory lane! 8-)

bigeye21 you are the man!!! I'm extremely obsessed with this show and jealous of you. BUT extremely thankful for your gracious input! With there being NO video of this show at all or even pictures, its thanks to people like you who give us a vision of what this show looked like in our minds when listening to it. I was 16 when this show was performed and couldn't travel to see it. If you have any other memories from this show please let us know!!
    Thanks again bigeye21!!

God I hope PJ releases this on dvd someday soon so I can die happily, ha ha.

I had completely forgotten about this show, but I used to have it on cassette tape until some dickwad broke into my car and stole all of my old bootlegs including Monkeywrench Radio Checkpoint Charlie. If I remember, Eddie made some mention of his brother's birthday and he played a song for him.
You can spend your time alone, re-digesting past regrets, oh
Or you can come to terms and realize
You're the only one who cannot forgive yourself, oh
Makes much more sense, to live in the present tense

Was it ever released on an "official" promo CD?

Only known source is from the FM radio broadcast > analog.
