    Get better soon Mrs BD!!

also, a lot of these foot issues can occur, heels or not. some foot problems are seemingly genetic/hereditary, so some are more apt to suffer from them than others. however, this is not to say that heels are good for your feet. time and again, it is clearly proven, high heels are bad news for your feet.

(but sure, try telling that to all the guys with the foot/heels fetishes :D )

I had a similar surgery but I haven't done the other foot yet. Maybe next winter but no way in hell am I getting this done in the summer. Mine was genetic but I do wear heels to work everyday.

Is she getting another cast after the 8 weeks? That seems really quick. I had a hard cast for about 2 months I believe and a walking cast for another two months. Full recovery (as in could wear any shoes I wanted) was probably 6-7 months total. I guess this is why I haven't jumped on getting the other foot done.

Good Luck to her. Hopefully it goes by quick.

Thanks again everyone. She is in bed and miserable. PJG, she will be in hard cast for 3/4 weeks and then soft cast for another month.

I love my high heel shoes but I only wear them when appropriate, mostly for work... No problems so far

Good luck to your wife...I hope she has a quick, easy recovery

Glad to hear your wife made it through surgery ok.....hope the misery passes quick!

I'm more of a platform shoe woman myself. Old school Steve Maddens. Low heels for my work suits (none of which are skirts as I hate panty hose!). Boots for shows, sneakers are for the gym. I have a pair of 6" porn star stilettos but....well, if I wear them, I cannot walk. I can only stand there in them. :D

BD, you are a great guy and caring husband! Hope Mrs. BD is feeling better fast!

My mom had the surgery a few years ago (in her 70s!). It was from wearing high heels, which she loved and my dad loved her in them. I have NO desire to repeat her experience. I stopped wearing heels more than 20 years ago when I had a job that kept me on my feet all day. I can't imagine ever wearing heels again.

Hope she is recovering well! Poor thing, that would be most painful.

I am a short-arse and proud of it. I just have to walk past a display of heels in a shop window and my ankles give way!!! I'm just not a dainty, eloquent and poised kinda girl. I live in my masseurs, and thankfully my work requires that I wear sneakers. I have another friend who is tall and wears the extreme of shoes..one night she was going out with us and was going to wear these (hoorid  ) chunky, mega tall white knee high lace up heeled boots!!!! then the next day she wears what we "affectionatley" call her "jesus sandals"...we love her, but not her shoes.

Oh how right you are (regarding heels); while I don't wear heels ever anymore, some years of dancing ballet1.png have caused me some life-long problems, which are controlled by doc martens, and orthotics in every other sneaker I wear when i teach aerobics.

Nothing personal (hope she recovers and everything), but wouldn't this be the same thing as me knowingly putting my hand in a bear trap... over and over again? Oh, the price of vanity.

yea, but.....does a bear trap make your arms look longer and sexier? then it might be an appropriate comparison. ;)

And do bear traps make all your shirts fit properly? ;)

I have a hard time finding pants that aren't too long, so I end up having to wear heels more often than I would like to make my pants fit.

Why don't you just take them up?

 I had this problem once. I was in this music video and had to wear shoes like that, but I couldn't walk in them..... so they gave me a nice, hot guy to carry me wherever I needed to go! Good times! :D

Why don't you just take them up?

    1. Too expensive to have them all taken up.

    2. I frequently intend to but don't get around to it. Then I find myself needing to wear them and they're too long, so I throw on some heels to make them fit.

I hope your wife feels better soon- it will take time. I always wore heels about (3 inches) I worked for an insurance co. for about 8 yrs. Now I'm a stay at home mom and my feet hurt all the time. I did not realize the damage I was doing to my feet.

The lady next door to me had surgery for the same reason back in November and then caught MRSA at hospital. She still needs more surgery and is going in this Wednesday. Those damn shoes.
I am glad I hardly wear them. I am tall and hate being talller, so I avoid them.
