The Message Board Core

It is funny there IS a solid core group amongst the folks here on the board who are in it because of Pearl Jam and their passion for the band and its music and even though anyone at any time can digress into a strange beast the core group keeps this whole thing going and makes it not only fun but educational for eveyone. Thanks alot, I mean it. I never leave here with out truely learning somthing about the band didn't already know or more importanly I always have a new perspective on something Pearl Jam I thought I full grasp or digested 100%.

I've often noticed your user name and your list of shows in your signature, and thought that either your name is ironic, or that you are actually a microbe and the Philadelphia metro area is quite a large area for you to travel around in to see PJ.

i live in VT and have been here for over 15 years since leaving UpState New York
I was self employeed from my early 20's until about 3 years ago - You would think this would allow more time to go to shows but I was always chasing the next dollar

So I wanna gonna get married in the fall of 08 - I just picked up Picture in a Frame DVD and was watching it with my little brother - He says "We gotta go see them" and so rather than a bachlor party he and I went to Bonnaroo - I was of course blown away - You can't begin to comprehend what it was like to hear Hard To Imagine with 95,000 other folks and be just 100 ft or so from the stage

My 13 year old daughter is a fan and well my wife has no choice but to be - So I bought tickets to Night 2 and Night 3 in Philly on that day at the time they were to the "only 2 nights in Philly" I kinda got screwed on that- daughter kathleen and I went to night 2 and wife Marlie and went to night 3 - they were as blown away as I was- I listen tothem everyday all day and lots of other stuff too - but each sunday it is the DVD's or spinning vinyl-- so that in short is my story

i tend to not like this board during the height of tour season. people get nasty. people who hardly come here unless there's a tour...they clog and double posts. i do like given to fly during those times thou.

so yes i consider myself core.

I hear that! Every time I go to more than one show in a year, I get bucketloads of "don't you just hear the same things over and over?" People just don't understand.

been lurking/posting since '99 (when I was 15)

I had just gotten into this band and honestly wondered if there were other people out there who thought the same way as I did about them...no other band had made me feel the way they did, it was like, I dunno how to describe it, but finding Pearl Jam's music was like finding my inner voice. so finding this place, and seeing people articulate how I felt was one of the greatest things to me, ever. Having met some of you (hi, Selin!), it has been wonderful to find that there are amazing, generous people out there who just, to put it simply, "get it".

I'm not in the message board core, not by a long shot. But man, it's been a fun ride so far.
