Someone on another thread said getting in and out of Mansfield is easier if you fly into Providence. True or false?
mansfield is pretty close to providence, and traffic would probably be lighter, but you still would have to drive. even if there were a train at the right times (I doubt it though) there's no way to get from the mansfield commuter rail stop to the venue. it's not exactly a pedestrian friendly area.
Also, I think someone mentioned in this thread that the train station is a half mile from the Tweeter Centre, but I was told that they were far enough apart that you'd need a taxi.
I don't think it's an issue of distance, I think the infrastructure is such that it's an autocentric suburb and there isn't a pedestrian route.

True. The airport (which is just south of PVD) is a cakewalk to get in and out of. Just head up 95 for about 30 minutes hit 495 south and it's the first exit off of it. I hate going to the Fleetcenter. It's a pain in the ass because of all the construction (or it was). I'd rather have my eye lids nailed to a wall than drive into Boston on a weekday. The ExpressWay blows.
If you park outside the Tweet and don't mind hoofing it for a bit, traffic is a non issue. Every time I go there there is a guy who lets you park in his back yard for like 20 bucks. Easy in, easy out.
I enjoy the Tweeter Center more than the Fleet. At least in the lawn they have the big screens so you can see the show

it's the garden now
but you don't really have to drive to boston do you? I mean I live in the city but I thought the commuter rail spreads pretty far out.

I can't keep up with all the name changes.
The rails do spread far out but the Middleboro stop is the closest point for me and that's half an hour from my house. (The South Coast always gets the shaft) By the time I got on the T I'd probably already be in Brockton/Avon area if I drove. When I lived in Middleboro I took the rails into the city to go to the Arts museum. I really didn't like it. I guess when you live in the city and are used to it, it becomes easy for you. Me being a suburbs guy I've pretty much driven everywhere I wanted to go.
Tweeter Center is a terrific venue. Saw my first PJ show there and am happy to hear that they are going back. Fleet Center is ok, but it cannot compare to being outdoors in Mansfield. And carpooling is a good way to cut back on emissions.

I agree. Very bad sound there!
That's the BIG drawback to this location.
