Yeah that's about where I'm at. I almost find it hard to believe that this is the same guy who came up with Siamese Dream and Mellon Collie. Given that he hasn't really come up with anything quite to that high standard since, I can only presume that one way or another the other band members did play an important role. I'll always check out any new stuff though, but it would take a full reunion for me to bother going to see them live again.0 -
id rather him explain why things didnt work out with jessica simpson0

how can you say that? 2 songs have only been released.. song for a son is good, the widow one is bit crappy.
Billy Corgan is an ego maniac who desperately needs a band of peers to help guide him
Like on Siamese Dream where he snuck in and fixed everything to his liking?0 -

Can you imagine if PJ played Lost Dogs all in one show?? That would be killer! But all the Ten-ers would probably be like "WTF is this?".
I wouldn't consider myself a 'Ten-er', but I wouldn't be happy with a really obscure PJ set that omitted all their more popular stuff. It's not that I don't like a lot of their b-sides, but for the most part those weren't the songs that got me into them.
In terms of the Pumpkins, I would have gladly taken some of the deeper album cuts from the first few records, but Billy seems to be under the impression that Machina was the pinnacle of his career, I respectfully disagree. He had a really shitty attitude on stage too. He got really stroppy when he asked if people had bought the new album and didn't get much of a response.
well, I wasn't talking about Evil Little Goat, here!
Yeah, Billy comes off as a real dick in public. He once thanked Our Lady Peace (a very popular Canadian band) in an interview with MuchMusic (Canada's MTV) "for keeping The Smashing Pumpkins sound alive". He received a chorus of boos amongst the live studio audience.Gimli 1993

Well they clearly had some influence even if they just bounced ideas off each other.0 -

That's pretty fucking rude, yeah Raine sounds like (a better version of) Billy, but musically speaking they aren't really that similar at all.0 -
Was hilarious when he ripped into Linkin Park in the Glasgow 08 show.0

I wish Billy all the luck in the world but in all honesty I gave up in 2000 after the farewell tour and don't think you could make a good album out of all the solo, Zwan, Zeitgeist or any other songs he has made since. Big talent in his day and I'm as much a fan of Adore, Machina 1 and 2 as I am of the early material but he has written too many songs over the years blind to the fact the majority of them at least during the last 10 years have been completely shite! He still believes and I take my hat off to him for his persistence and his generosity but a full reunion and greatest hits tour is the only thing that could interest the majority of his fans but he will always believe his current work is something better than it is. Still one of the best musician/songwriters I've seen and heard.Like a book among the many on a shelf...

his solo album sucked IMO. Zeitgeist? I LOVE IT. Zwan? pretty good. I love American Gothic. the two new songs I've heard? Song For A Son is good, but the newest one will take time to grow on me, if it does at all. It's got some poppy feel that I'm not all that interested in. But there's 42 more to go that I'm stoked about!Gimli 1993

there's also a single he released when Jimmy was still with him. G.L.O.W. single, with SuperChrist is the second song. If you are a JC fan, SuperChrist supremely showcases his drumming ability. The first two minutes are just chunky guitar and Jimmy. It's awesome.
Yes, there is no denying Jimmy's influence on the band's music. It's too bad he left.Gimli 1993

I'm sure it also has something to do with him already being a millionaire as well0

because he's banging Jessica Simpson and he doesn't want to give her any money when it all goes south........"No way to save someone who won't take the rope, and just lets go..."0
