I love both songs but Unthought Known is my favorite!!! It has become my all time favorite Pearl Jam song and sounds even better live!

Lyrically, I am partial to Amongst the Waves. It is so unabashedly joyous in its theme of redemptive love: a concept that is capable of acting as a metaphorical "backspacer" in our life. But, overall I have to choose Unthought Known (also amazing lyrics) for the musical wave it takes me on. I must also say that song really benefits from Brendan's piano work. In the same way as it does Speed of Sound, the piano serves to uphold the mood of the song while adding an extra dimension to it. Well, now seems a good time to bust out the ol' Backspacer vinyl

There's a good time for that? The cd sounds better to my ears. The vinyl is pretty weak.

at first i would have said unthought known

but now i prefer amongst the waves, this song has really struck a chord with me in the past week.
