listened to it several times in the last couple weeks... unfortunately missed out on the vinyl on ebay that went for 80 bucks. still not a bad deal for the winner.

gtf (matts fill at about 1:53?), black, off he goes, mikes cord solo, UNTITLED... all epic.
Yeh I've seen Pearl Jam, too. But I can't remember the dates.

The solo in Black gives me chills & Nothingman is so nice to hear live. Would have loved it to be a double album though, so many songs to pick from. You cant always get what you want all time.

This is a great sounding live album.

Additionally, it's a neat example of the band doing a dry run leading up to the comprehensive bootleg releases they've done since 2000. As I recall they were also updating their website with small video clips every day after each tour stop, many of which mirrored TB2K.

I wonder what they have up their sleeves now? :)

  • Fuckin' Up is spectacular. Can't get enough of it. 8-)
  • The speed of Given to Fly on that release is the ideal live speed for me- its been too fast lately, actually a 30 second difference sometimes from the studio verison to the newer live versions.

It's funny just a few days ago I've decided to give it a try, and when I listen to Fuckin' Up I was amazed by the vocals, great interpretation. After that I'd decided to do some search in YouTube and found this song singed by Vedder and Neil Young...... just sublime :)

    Best Black ever.
  • My favourite version of Given To Fly.
  • This was stolen from me in college and I never bothered to repurchase it since I have like 100 shows already. I always loved the posters on the inside cover though.

I LOVE the way Mike just seems to jump in to the Corduroy solo...I can't come up with a good analogy for it but it just bursts out of the speakers at you.

Yeah but remember that these are the only live recordings from 1998 that were mixed and mastered. Plus, the band chose what they thought were the best performances of each song. There was a period where I didn't really listen to it because I figured since I had so many 2000 boots, what's the point? But I've come back around to it and it really stands out among their countless live releases

Haven't listened for a while to b honest!

Great album; great if it had been a double LP. It was like the band were testing the waters with it before deciding to release boots. Interesting song choice. Good choices though!

Interesting order the songs were placed in too! Doesn't really run like a set of theirs would.

Anyway I'm going to give it a spin later and load it to my iPOD.

PS is it true even flow was cut from two different performances???

  • I love that cd. Does anybody know why the rest of their live recordings don't sound this good.

Is Jack Irons or Matt playing drums on G2F ? Whoever it is it's the best version IMO.

Ed's voice, to me, is just perfect. I love Ed's voice from the Yield era.

  • This is the album that put Pearl Jam from being ONE of my favorite bands to MY favorite band.

Had all the studio albums, but I was only like 15 and not really into live albums, bootlegs, et al. But my hometown radio station played a couple tracks from Live on Two Legs regularly and I remember hearing Small Town from that release right as I got to basketball practice one morning. Walked in the locker room and the entire freaking team was humming the song. I went out a day later and bought it.....on CASSETTE. It's still in my '93 Caprice that I drive to this day.

Love it and wonder if I'd have seen Pearl Jam 15 times live since if I hadn't have stumbled upon Live on Two Legs to hear just how good they were live.

pretty sure lo2l is from the US 98 shows when Matt took over. Jack gave it away after the pacific tour.
